I tend to find that when it comes to street sign captcha, you should just pick 2 or 3 panels/images, regardless of how many are actually relevant.

most 80's cartoons were made to sell toys so writers came up with whatever to get paid,

if only they knew how the inevitable fandoms would turn out and how they are about trying to make sense about everything.

The proportions and perspective. Bart looks huge in relation to the school building. He should be about half the size shown in that pic.
>>
>>77318699
The pic supposedly shows Nelson's proportions being off, but according to >>77318640 , that was just a dream sequence.
>>
>>77318710
This is hardly a mistake, they have to put frames like this in to convey motion.
Or at least they used to, almost none of the recent 1080p cartoons have speed lines or deformations any more. Each frame is as pristine as the last and it all looks so odd when things are whizzing around the screen. Like HFR.
>>
>>77318721
>according to >>77318640 , that was just a dream sequence.
it is, I remember the episode.
When I saw that screenshot posted, I assumed they were familiar with the episode, and were focusing on the proportions of Bart's head
>>
>>77318712
>The proportions and perspective. Bart looks huge in relation to the school building. He should be about half the size shown in that pic.
The school building is in the background. You can only compare him with the sidewalk squares.

He's probably too big compared to those, but only by a little.
>>
>>77318736
Sadly, I have yet to see that episode... and I've seen a good chunk of classic era Simpsons episodes.
>>
>>77318730
>This is hardly a mistake, they have to put frames like this in to convey motion.
yeah, I was kind of wandering off topic there.
I made the previous post about "smears", then went looking for them, and posted one to further the point, but didn't really give any indication I was following on from it.

Has anyone seen Hugh Frasier's Popeye (1960) or Flintstones animation? It's full of fucking errors. Also, too many of the 60's Popeye TV shorts to name have cels where Popeye erroneously has both eyes open. It looks incredibly wrong. If that's not weird enough, here's something else involving supernumerary eyes.

It was the beginning of overseas animation production for American cartoons. AKOM was a big Korean company started by Nelson Shin to produce overseas animation for shows like G.I. Joe and Transformers. Unfortunately, AKOM was pretty rough for the first 5 or so years, so their quality was usually poor.

I'd chalk it up to possible language barrier differences at the time or just general bugs in the system before overseas animation became the end-all-be-all of American cartoons.

Basically. A lot of the time they get the animation back from whatever overseas studio is handling it, and it's full of errors but they don't have the money nor the time to send it back and go "fix it"

There's this one still cell that just tweens across the screen in one episode, and the girl is covered in red marks that aren't explained and aren't visible anywhere else in the episode.

It's probably just really bad paint work but because of the pose with the guy gripping her wrist, what's meant to be a couple running away from or towards something ends up looking like something far worse.

DVD wasn't invented and VCRs weren't super common yet. Also, VCRs that could pause without blurring the fuck out of the picture didn't really happen until 91 or 92.

Also, that footage is slowed down a bit from when it aired on television.
