Considering speedsters are a dime a dozen there should be nothing to prevent them from making a black speedster, but let's be honest. The reason they don't do that is that people like big names, and there are no big name black characters, and there's no drive to do what it takes to make a character a big name (ie, one or two stellar books.)
So, like Miles, they harvest a legacy title from another character and slap it on in the hopes of selling that character to a new audience who don't buy comics, while pissing off older fans who do. Then sales inevitably lag and the book gets cancelled.

When you get a rebooted character like say superman, their mythos gets reinterpreted and whatnot and people dont care much as long as the core of the character is fine.

I have MASSIVE gripes about the Olicity shilling, because it's flagrantly bad writing. Hopefully, they never do it again. I have huge gripes about the Patty crap, because it was largely poorly written (and it ENDED). I thought Iris and her editor would be cringe, but I'm pleasantly surprised because hey, they're handling something like mature adults and can agree to disagree. That is legions above Arrow or LoT in terms of writing quality. It's not 'the best', but the Flash writers can be good and what's "shit" often seems so crassly out of place that it looks like someone like Guggenheim badgered them until they incuded it.

They were doing a dangerous investigation she had no right being a part of.
Her family are cops and they were investigating something extremely dangerous, they weren't just at the office, she's a blogger. She literally demanded that they not be able to do anything without them telling her, and this is far from the only point in the series she has given people loads of shit for not making her the central figure in everything they do.
Let alone that she demanded involvement in the flash stuff but brings NOTHING to the table. She stands in the room while other people do things.
