Superman's rebirth is somehow connected to Darkseid, and includes Darkseid attempting to corrupt him in some sort of astral plane. Lois will be important to this subplot.
Darkseid will have some sort of ability to force the League members to handle their own dark sides and go through psychological trials. It appears to be capacity for good remains a theme of the movie, with the League members all being shown to be dysfunctional, angry people that could have tipped over to the dark side easily if circumstances were a little different.
The focus is on the six mains and Lois. Everyone else is just minor.

The reason why everything is going so badly is because they picked the ONE director who 1) doesn't care about notes on his style, 2) literally ignores anything he's told in pre-production, 3) uses his wife's and his own leverage to put in whatever he wants at the last minute, 4) rushes into production as quickly as he can, 5) goes overbudget because he can tell them "well we have extra time since we skipped pre-production!!!!".

As far as he is concerned, this should have been MoS 2 but with BvS he had to re-think supermans story-arc and cut short as superman had to share his screentime with a lot of "new" characters, also he had to take into consideration that this movie is supposed to be advertising for the rest of the DCEU and its characters, these are all obviously not his decisions but WB, also Ben and Terrio had to re-write a script which was already done and is it seems Ben mostly cared about Batman, which turned batman in the best part of the movie but consumed a lot of screentime as well, a lot of things did and I really really doubt WB didn't have its own marketing retards who also had an influence on the movie.
You can see this movie has a lot of ideas which are mostly unfinished, a lot of scenes which are great by themselfs but not great together. This is what infuriates me the most, when I watched this movie, I thought what an amazing looking fucking mess of a movie. I was in awe about how you can have such a great movie and still fuck it up.

I found BvS a flawed movie and i don't like how Superman was handled, but i still love all the associations between characters and scenes, and the imagery, symbolism and themes. There is a lot to digest from the movie.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but what makes me so upset about the movie is how close it was to being good. Like, you can tell that Henry and Affleck are more than suited to play Clark and Bruce, and it shows in parts of the film. Eisenburg, we'd already see him basically play Luthor in The Social Network. They had a great cast, and a decent concept. But Snyder, man, he just destroys everything he touches. They have so many other talents on this film but Snyder just loves to squander every single one of them. I mean, I can even give the film 6/10, because of the little parts I like, but I can see that the movie just isn't what it was meant to be. Feels bad, man.
