Roads led to other roads, towns were seperate towns, etc. The strange enemies and creatures were all related to the alien's 'influence' so that can be chalked up to psychic powers. I mean you can understand how a secret entrance underneath steonhenge contains a secret base for alien operation. As to why an underground area a human falls through, and is unable to get back up through, is sealed off with MAGIC, conatins MONSTERS, has cell phone, anime, a mountanous alpine region next to a lava area, and some kind of 'core.' Holy shit, finally a criticism about the game I see eye to eye with that isn't coming from shitposters who only saw a few screenshots from the game. I was beaming with excitement over Undertale right after leaving the ruins and meeting Sans/Papyrus. It started dipping after Snowdin, and then completely dipped off in Hotland.
The twists and turns the gameplay offered were genuinely impressive but anything outside the unique combat system was kind of shit. Puzzles were somewhat lazily done and were trivialized far too many times to be the butt of a by-then dead horse of a joke. The game seemed like it was setting the player up for some great grand adventure and that you'd eventually learn of the dark side of the monsters and whatnot. Besides Alphys' dishonesty, that never happened. There was a golden opportunity to explore that with Flowey, but they had to go withhis evil side being the human soul side that "hated humanity" for no given reason, not the monster soul side.I feel like the whole hyper meta bullshit completely entangled into the story was shoehorned in just so people can gush over how "deep" the lore is; it's hard to see it any other way.

He tried to kill himself, and found that he came back at a "save point" of sorts due to determination that was injected into him by Alphys. The point he was making, though, was that the main villain (Asriel/Flowey) wasn't explained, though. That's outright wrong. In fact, the whole deconstruction of the genre with Flowey is arguably the most intriguing part of the game. Chara is another story. Maybe we'll get something in hard mode for that.

Looks like I did get that mixed up.After hearing Asriel's explanation at the end of the game, I assumed that after he had died, his soul was still combined with Chara's after becoming Flowey from Alphys' experiments, which now that I think about it, doesn't make sense following what happens when a monster and human soul combine. So yes, I got that bit wrong. Still, I have issues that the rest of the monsters are portrayed as only defensive and innocent, and the true pacifist ending overall.

That's not even remotely true. Even ignoring the basic implications of that statement the degradation of the public school system in countries like america as well as the subsequent dumbing down of the secondary education system has rendered college education at the level where high school and middle school would be if the public school system was doing its job right. Private schools at this point are teaching kids at what hs become the college level not only in subject material but in the semi-autonomous curriculum structure and not only do the kids take to it all just fine they frequently take to it better than actual college students coming from stunted education programs.
