That's because originally you could find the entire movies online. Then Vivid got smart (or someone did) and started going after download sites that had these large files.
So they either split the parts of the movie into various ones and you had to download all to get the entire movie. Or chop it completely up which seems to be the norm now.
The last complete movie I could find was Spider-Man vs. Superman XXX and honestly that's my favorite out of all of them. The best Vivid ones are:
