I haven't listened to s/t in a while, but I do remember it having some of my favorite Blur tracks ever (Beetlebum, Country Sad Ballad Man, You're So Great, Death of a Party, Strange News From Another). There is a bit of filler though.
Also, I think Think Tank is highly underrated even though Graham Coxon doesn't play guitar on it and there are a couple bad tracks (Crazy Beat comes to mind).

I'd say so, it's closer to being a Damon solo album or prelude to Gorillaz than Blur's previous work, but their are some really fantastic songs on it (Out of Time is a top 5 blur song for me).
Just replace Crazy Beat with one of the non-album tracks they did from that era (like Colours or Don't Bomb When You're The Bomb) and it's a pretty solid album, imo.

Wrong. Mech shows often have good intrigue and character drama. I love Legend of the Galactic Heroes for the drama and politics, not the space battles. It's the same with shows like Aldnoah Zero or any Gundam series. I skip most of the mech fights.
