The writer was the dude who did the JPL-drawn two-parter in Detective Comics a little bit ago. It was extremely solid, so there's absolutely room for hope.
And HOLY FUCKING SHIT Carlos D'Anda's stuff is going to make Suicide Squad so fucking worth it. Ryan's writing has been very steadily improving, and now with the promise of actually good art? I genuinely believe this could be the best Suicide Squad since Ostrander. Not saying much, but I'm pretty hype now.
Omega Men is going to be great, Tim Seeley is a good writer but the Tom King issues of Grayson are by far the best ones.

I had to google a lot of these people. Some of the artist look real damn good. Disappointed that Mahnke is still being wasted on Superman/Wonder Woman instead of doing Shazam with Johns. I would've liked some Ian Bertram. And Jesus Saiz and Javi Pina are doing some GL mini and I haven't read GL since Lights out...And I was holding out more hope for some dark line titles. And no Kamandi(probably for the better, E-51 looks amazing but I don'tr trust many to do a good job). Some Demon would've been cool. Deadman. Still, a great line up where 3/4 of the titles look good, something I've never seen from a publisher so big like the big two do.

Not him, most of the New 52 books that got curbstomped ASAP were well out of the superherocentric story publisher's wheelhouse, and most of the ones that looked to have good creative teams stayed around much longer than I think most of us thought they would. Yes, there are definitely some out there choices within this new swath of books, but many of them are minis, and most of them have a decent to good sounding creative team associated with them. On top of that, Most of the New 52 screamed 90's from their initial solicitations, and these are all over the place, and despite the fact that /co/ bursts an artery in it's eye every time it thinks about Batgirl, it is doing well, and is actually showing how to successfully develop a new audience. A lot of these new books feel very much in that same vein, as opposed to "female writer of a female character even though it will essentially feel just like every other book you have no interest in reading" which is what most of the outreach titles within the original New 52 really felt like.

I blame Grant Morrison for sidelining Tim as soon as he brought Damian in. At least when Tim came in, Jason was dead and Dick was Nightwingin' it up. When Damian came in, Morrison dropped him for his pet character.
Not that Damian hasn't grown on me, but the 90s hammered in that TIM would be the one to inherit the mantle.

The DC Universe Classics line by Mattel is infamous for it's reusing of buck bodies and parts, but is pretty good for getting lots of characters in a cost-effective manner. And some genuinely look pretty good, even with the same-y-ness.
The new DC Collectibles stuff is great, though. Given more time they might be the definitive DC figures. I really wish that Frankenstein had won that fan poll rather than Poison Ivy.
