What's your favorite display of super powers in a super hero movie, /co/?
>>
Probably that, Anon.
>>
MCU doesn't really have good power feats. It's all pewpew lasers and exaggerated pro wrestling moves.
>>
Ya know, honestly while it wasn't one of the best and it wasn't supposed to show his power in a positive light. In x-men one when toad pulls off cyclops' visor and he just tears a hole in the cieling, that still strikes me as a good sudden example of his destructive force and was just really amazing to see in a movie the fiest time.
>>
Coincidentally, this is mine:

While it was honestly very static disregarding the chaotic effects, I really came to love how they handled Pete and the Infinity Stone by the end of the GotG movie.

The way it took hold of his body, but then you got to see things from his perspective as he saw into infinity. And everything looked fine. And then it abruptly cut back to how it looked from the outside and he really was breaking apart all while he stood straight just the same.

It was a really neat way to showcase the stones, or so I think.

My favorite single use was from Dofp when pink opens a portal and then in one shot, colossus jumps through it and then falls onto a sentinel.

My favorite scene was probably Nightcrawlers opening scene in X2

>>
>>65348278
Fucking awesome!
>>
>>65346156
There are a couple problems I had with that scene.
It's the 70's right? Those headphones are not the least bit reminiscent of the 70's, and those ski goggles are exactly the same as a pair I bought from 7-11 maybe 8 years ago.

I did love that scene for the fact that it showed everything from the perspective of having that super speed, the music was a bit funny for that scene.

Cap taking down that jet in cap 2

Iron Man's first fight against those terrorist guys in IM1

>>65346156
OP's scene isn't nearly as good as Blink shenanigans in the future
>>
I watched Scott Pilgrim last night and it had the most impressive action sequences I'd seen in comic book movie. The choreography, visual effects, sound design, editing, composition, camera work and humour they all had worked so good. I think maybe the only weak one was the electro vs garage rock light show. At one point it devolved into blurry lights and it was hard to make out what was happening with the dragon and yeti things

Love me some Edgar Wright.
>>
>>65346156
Two choices

Either Cap using his shield in the films, really makes a thrown shield seem cool.

Or Nightcrawler's scene in X2. Made me appreciate teleportation as a power a lot more.

People might love Quicksilver in DoFP, but that scene was nothing we hadn't seen speedy characters do 1000 times before.
>>
>>65348398
Why the fuck would that train be on that dead end track in the first place?
>>
Pretty much all of the fight scenes (and the first flight scene) in Man of Steel, especially the Smallville fight.
And, since I haven't seen Days of Future Past yet, I quite liked how The Flash's powers were shown in the leaked pilot, at least for a TV show budget.

Maybe Erik's bar scene during the Nazi hunting part of 1st Class, or maybe him lifting the stadium. In fact, Magneto just has the most badass power scenes

Oh, and if Iron Man counts, probably his first scene in the middle east as the modern IM suit

Clark flying gets me fucking pumped. In MoS and in 1978. Faora wrecking shit at super speed is very cool too.

Magneto was just too fucking OP in DofP, I mean, that scene where, despite never being said to have any mechanical/computer knowledge, reprograms highly advanced robots with pieces of a train track really annoyed me.
>>
>>65346156

That was pretty awesome.

I also LOVE how MoS did Supes' heat vision. Instead of wimpy little laser pointers, it was fucking jets of ionized plasma. Looked awesome.

>>
>>65349090

I'll admit, the CGI in this video is weird. It' slike Spider-man pops out of screen... The Bluray Rip I got here feels much more natural.
>>
>>65348769
The first thing you see in the clip is the train missing its track.
>>
>>65346156
only thing I didn't like about quicksilver's scene is that it made him far too overpowered (by movie standards, at least)

with a guy to whom bullets look absurdly slow, it would've been nearly impossible to use him in any actual fight because nobody could even remotely touch him

Well I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. It's one of the most cathartic movie experiences I've ever had.
>>
>>65349201
Um, yeah. That's the thing about Super Speed, it's a lot more OP than most of the flashy powers. You don't need laser beams and shit when you can run up and punch them in the face in the time for them to say "Holy shit, how'd he get here?!"
>>
>>65349201
That's why I always wanted to be Quicksilver/Flash

Super strength isn't going to help you if you're doing it in slow motion
>>
>>65347870
I forgot how good this movie was.
>>
>>65350686

It's not tha overpowered if they aren't that fast. The kid from The Incredibles had the perfect balance, Quicksilver was impossible fast.

Handgun bullets can travel more than 370m/s and they were in slow motion to him. This is absurdly fast.
>>
>>65350199
The thing I like about that scene is that Jarvis tells him he can only save 4 of the them but he goes "fuck it" and finds a way to save them all instead.
>>
>>65350963

I love that too. There was a lot of things I liked in this movie, too bad it got so much hate.
>>
All the Kryptonians in Man of Steel. A few of Nolan Batman's scenes were perfect too, if you count Batman's abilities as powers. Retrieving Lau from Hong Kong comes to mind.
>>
>>65351721
I love the docks scene in Batman Begins. Seeing the criminals scared and panicking and never seeing Batman added a lot to the scene.
>>
>>65351963

Yeah, I really liked that too.
>>
>>65350686

Psychic powers. But yeah other than than super-speed is pretty powerful. Even if you don't win you could just run away with ease.

I wonder how/if the Sentinels killed Quicksilver in DoFP.

Cap is also super-human, a normal person would probably die in that situation.
>>
>>65352087
But even then, there's so many kinds of psychic powers. Telekinesis? Telepathy?
>>
>>65352226
I thought that was weird.. He could've just webbed the truck, pulled the driver out, web pulled the cars outta the way.. Anything.

The way Mjolnir exits the lighting and hits the Destroyer to knock its aim off course makes one think that we are in for one hell of a fight.

Then, Mjolnir returns and bitch-slaps the Destroyer into the ground, and you realize that there will be no fight, but a one-sided slaughter.

Some have criticized it for downplaying the power of the Destroyer, but the entire scene oozes of power in a way that is rarely seen.

Does anyone have a webm of it?

in the first issue of brubaker's cap run he knocks some terrorist's off of a moving train. yes in some avengers runs he has a no killing rule. but this is retarded for a super SOLDIER to have
>>
the plane scene in superman returns has always bothered me because holy SHIT if you have that much EXTREME force on two SMALL AS FUCK spots on the surface, you would just puncture the goddamn hull. should've been him lifting the fucking thing with his back.

That was pretty neat. Plus a nice callback to that one dropped hint of how the Gem was too much for any *one* person to handle. Because the Guardians aren't one person - they're a team of friends.

That scene makes no sense. The cops wouldn't all have fired their bullets at exactly the same second.

remember that part where blonsky gets chest kicked by hulk and then heals from it instead of being a retarded meat blob the rest of his life thanks to the super soldier serum that they were experimenting on him with that was BASED on the serum cap was given?

there's some background for you on what the real deal serum probably can do if the knockoff incomplete one could do that.

This is still the best, most emotionally charged superhero fight ever. Maybe not the best display of superpowers but Neo, at least to me, felt more like a superhero than anyone else in this thread.

>>
>>65356325
I just watched IM for the second time the other day. I really enjoyed the attention put into the suit, they knew it was the draw of the movie. Watching him build it and that long first full suit up sequence.
Its a much different feeling from Avengers and Iron Man 3 when I think audiences started attending for RDJ and not the suit.
>>
>>65358997
Oh and everything about Iron Monger was perfect. The way it moved and hit things felt like it had a real weight to it.
>>
>>65358886
On a completely unrelated note, I've been looking for a pair of boots like Neo wore for fifteen years now.
>>
>>65358886
>computer program
>agents don't have perfect aim
I get that there are rules and shit (hence no unlimited ammo or deagles that shoot missiles) but perfect aim seems like something pretty easily done.
>>
>>65355945
anyone have the hulk and black widow nsfw edit of this?
>>
>>65359224
It is all a computer program, why can't the robots just turn the floor into lava? Or just change the variable that says neo is alive? Or even the concentration of oxygen in the area?
>>
>>65359224
They're coded to be perfect shots, but people plugging into the Matrix aren't bound by the rules of the Matrix and are essentially perfect dodgers
>>
>>65359224
I assume that Agents are restricted by the body they're hijacking. Basically they can push them to the their extreme limits, but can't exceed any pre-existing limits. It'd also explain why they just don't bullet time it all the time.
>>
>>65352955
When Cap throws his shield into the bridge window, you can just see it decapitating Batroc's aide

It doesn't bounce back and instead plunges itself into the wall behind them
>>
>>65348850
DoFP does so much right that people tend to forget how fucking stupid most of it is.

>the scene you just mentioned
>"because he was one of us."
>"a mutant just pulled a stadium off the ground and cut off access to the White House, reprogrammed super weapons and voiced an intent to replace humanity, but a *different* mutant decided NOT to kill the president so they are clearly much less of a threat than we thought!"

The last one really sticks out in my mind because it is so unforgivably stupid.
>>
>>65352886
I was under the impression that the edge was made of adamantium for bouncing, weaponry etc, and the middle area was vibranium, for absorbing blows.
>>
>>65359644
more like "a different mutant pretended to be the president and showed that we have mutant allies as well as enemies and thus should not condemn mutant kind as a whole as dangerous enemies to humanity"

would've been nice to have more pre-"I am Iron Man" endeavors like that Iron Man vs Terrorists scene, where a metal suit coming out of nowhere to dish out justice wasn't an actual concern/to be expected by people.
>>
>>65359720
Nope, one uniform piece of steel alloyed with "all the vibranium known to exist on Earth". In the comics it's vibranium, steel, and "we all fell asleep so we have no damn clue what else got in".
>>
>>65359883
A sequel is being made. Unfortunately, it looks like it will be terrible because the studio doesn't want to continue the story. They basically want to tell the same story again but with different kids this time.
