Frank for the first week after his family died. But after that he was happy.

>Unknowingly sold out his entire unit, got them all captured and his best friend killed, barely managed to escape but was dishonored for life
>Tracked down his old apache tribe, challenged shithead chief's son to duel, got double-crossed again and had to cheat to kill him
>In revenge, chief tortured and branded him with a red-hot tomahawk on his face
>Became bounty hunter, lived shitty life full of violence, broken romances, half a dozen failed attempts at going straight, more violence, more torture, and a LOT more violence
>Somehow managed to survive into the early 20th century
>Bushwacked and buckshot to death by a coward
>Corpse mounted and stuffed by greedy travelling carnie who also killed his last wife in the process

If you took all the most fucked up things in canon alternative universes and things that have been retconned then I'd say Bruce Wayne.
I'll list some things as why.

>Accepts responsibility in his deaths even though he is slash isn't responsible he still views himself as the cause for his parents death.
>the death of second robin and his mum.
>being killed repeatedly in the most fucked ways possible everyday by emperor joker feeling and remembering each death.
>never killing your adversaries who will ultimately escape and kill innocents.
>Responsible depending on canon the creation of two face, red hood, the joker and others my drunk ass can't remember.
>Mask of phantasm the girl who was gonna make the bat a man permanently ended up being the villain and dying at the end. This is an emotionally gripping and exceptional batman flick that's better than 85 percent of the live actions.
