Hello /co/, let's have a thread dedicated to /co/ related vidya, post what you like. This game was awesome to play when I was a kid and I still love it. In fact, all the Disney game adaptions in the 90s were awesome.
I played Lion King quite a lot as a kid but never tried the Aladdin games. I've enjoyed Telltale's earlier adventure stuff. Sam & Max is pretty good and Strong Bad's game is okay. Bone had noticeable flaws, though. I haven't played their later content like Wolf Among Us or Walking Dead. But I've understood the mechanics have been dumbed down, which kinda disappoints me.
Scribblenauts Unmasked felt a little disappointing after Scribblenauts Unlimited. Then there's Arkham Asylum and the Korra game. I've got them but still haven't finished those, and need to arrange some time for them eventually.

How come the Genesis versions of Disney movie games tended to be better than the SNES versions? In almost every other instance, it's the other way around.

If you're into beat 'em ups, this game is awesome. The show and comic are okay, but this game is awesome.
I'll also rec Alien vs Predator, but I'm not sure how far that fall into /co/ territory.

Funny story about Aladdin. On /vr/ it's pretty heavily debated on which is better, the SNES or Genesis version of Aladdin. What's cool about the Genesis version is the graphics were done by the Disney animation team who did the movie. Plus virgin did a great job on the game, the music and levels were done awesome plus you get a sword. The SNES version is still great, capcom did a great job with it like always.

In /co/ related games the Genesis version was almost always better.
Look at Beavis & Butthead for example, even though the SNES can do samples better, the Genesis version sounds way clearer. It also plays way better, and has better graphics too.

To be fair, that list is stupidly long. I had to put the GBA Magical Quest games instead of the SNES/Mega Drive/Famicom games, to try and ameliorate how absurdly huge the 16-bit list is.
This game was pretty sweet, but really only because it was a clone of Super Mario 64.

Not a clone? It had ALL of the same basic elements:
>open-ended levels
>objectives reward you with a token of some sort
>later levels require more tokens to unlock
>unlockable powerups that make you backtrack to previous levels
>focus on platforming
>collectible coins, with a token granted when you collect 50 coins within each level
It's not an exact clone, but it's very closely following SM64's formula.

Are the Disney games worth collecting? Local retro game shop has about a dozen of em, mostly for playstation.
Also Tarzan for the Playstation was GOAT Disney game.

A good chunk of them are pretty good. Virgin, SEGA and Capcom are all top quality. Disney interactive is good too.
