Nah, they're just info dumping new stuff. To my knowledge, this is the first time they've ever talked about this stuff. It's a nice way of doing stuff, as the characters reactions get across how important it is without having to be labor it obviously in text. Of course, it also means there's not much emotional response on the audiences side to the "revelation."

I think the question was "if no one could read it, how would they know what it said if they read it." After all, no one should be able to read it. Never the less, rodent shota recognized the words immediately after he finished, meaning there seems to be at least a knowledge of what it said, despite no one having been able to read, or maintain knowledge of, the original pact in years. That he immediately thinks it's a copy seems to also indicate actual copies exist and can be read, but have none of the implied power of the original.

I think Cyborg, though frankly, now that you mention it, what with the arm and eye, it kinda feels up in the air. Guess we'll have to wait and see what the world is like. Or maybe they'll just tell us. I'm kinda leaning more towards cyborg than robot, but mostly on narrative grounds (it just kinda "feels like" the character would be a cyborg and not a robot in this story) rather than anything particular that comic has told us.
