not really. Most pens these days are smudge proof, and even if they weren't, it's not hard to adjust your hand slightly. Not sure if I picked that up from working as an illustrator, but it's not rocket science. I use right-handed scissors with my left hand all the time and don't notice any difference. Video game controllers always put the joystick/d-pad on the left. I had an advantage when I used the play baseball. And I learned to jerk off with either hand.
