It literally doesn't anon. Inhumans sell nowhere near bad enough for that. Consider how much they put into carol who was like 17k. X-men sales more than make up for what you believe are losses. You're just retarded for thinking giving them more money is hurting them or that this wasn't just to get sales.

>>
>>78514714
Actually that's the funnier thing.
They only need to put money (or at least appear to be doing so to X Men fans) on the inhuman books and they increase the sales from the X-books as well due to fans being angry that the Inhumans are being shown more love than the X-Men.

ANAD Avengers sold close to 130,000 copies for issue 1.

Which sounds good until you remember that's close to what any given issue of the main Batman title sells regardless of numbering.

Lemire? Nobody?

What is Essex County Trilogy was all the rage, Sweeth Tooth is also some of the best stuff DC has pulled out in the recent years. Trillium is great, too.

>>
>>78515796
also, from the other angle, Waid hasn't had a big hit in a while. Daredevil is mostly all about Rivera, Martin and Samnee, read some interviews and even Waid himself openly says most godly stuff early on are all Rivera, and the second volume left bad taste in a lot of people's mouths
>>
>>78516038
The same reasons companies release physical sales?
>>
>>78516073

Diamond releases them.
>>

>>78512935
It's only going to get stronger when the sequel is announced, Injustice 2: Injustice Harder.
>>
>>78516130
what?

Diamond has nothing to do with ComiXology. ComiXology is an entirely different entity.

Don't believe the poseurs in How to fix comics industry threads spewing the nonsense that Diamond has monopoly.
>>

Digital sales aren't done through diamond, they don't know what the numbers are either
>>

I honestly don't know how it works thus reasons why I'm asking questions. I thought if the company can collect information on physical sales, they could also collect digital sales too.
>>
>>78516291
Diamond and Comixology are just the distributors between publisher and retailer/customer. Diamond reports how many issues comic shops order from them, they don't know anything else.
>>
>>78516167
>ComiXology is an entirely different entity.
It's also owned by Amazon, even bigger company than Diamond.
>>
>>78512845
>>78512914
>>78515191

My gut feeling here is that if MTMTE is outselling most of everything and Moon Knight, who was never popular, is in the top 25... these do not represent high sales figures. MTMTE sells physical copies to the order of 10k/issue (technically while double shipping, but only every other month).

The total weekly sales for comixology are probably under 150k at the upper limit.
>>
>>78516412
Amazon would have not bought if it was so little.
>>
>>78516412
Digital sales mean nothing. Ms marvel was number 1 every time it came out for like half it's run but it only had 30k sales for diamond.
>>
>>78516412
I think most people have estimated that digital is generally 10-20% of physical, but there are some exceptions (like when books like Gotham Academy end up around the same place as GL).
>>
>>78516492
I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm not understanding why you think that means they don't mean anything. No one has ever argued that digital sales increase physical ones.
>>
>>78516492
I do not see how selling this or that through Diamond proves anything about ComiXology.

Those two are entirely different chains of distribution. On some level, you could say they are two different markets.
>>
>>78516441
Amazon buys lots of things. Sometimes you need to buy startups just to keep your share price level; otherwise investors start to jump over. They're fickle like that.

>>78516503
Physical is what, 80 million a year? Something like that. 8 million a year digital across all platforms sounds -ish.

>>78516492
It's harder to judge because for certain titles, they may genuinely be hitting a higher sale on digital than they ever would on physical; that might be true, for example, of titles aimed at the kind of person who wouldn't go to a comic book store because it's a creepy, smelly place full of weirdos. Which let's be honest is most people now.

But my feeling with Transformers in particular occupying two high spots on this platform is that the platform doesn't sell a great deal of new comics.

However, it may be that they sell a lot of back issues in numbers so small they never chart, but high enough that they can still turn a profit as a platform. It really depends on whether the chart represents a high enough proportion of total sales, or just those that meet arbitrary designations.

Given that it goes up to > 570. Paybacks #4 , who even fucking has the patience to figure it out.
>>
>>78516542
Well they don't mean nothing but they represent a much smaller portion of the sales and tend to not reflect sale trends as the bigger companies.
