>Gotham City's champion returns in Frank Miller, Brian Azzarello, Andy Kubert, and Klaus Janson's Dark Knight III: The Master Race #1 from DC Entertainment, the best-selling comic book of November.

>Marvel Comics had nine of the month's top ten best-selling comics, with Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato's Star Wars: Vader Down #1, a special that kicked off the "Vader Down" crossover between Star Wars and Darth Vader as their best-selling comic for the month at #2. Also in the top ten were four launch titles for the "All-New All-Different Marvel" — Deadpool #1 at #3, Extraordinary X-Men #1 at #5, All-New All-Different Avengers #1 at #6, and All-New Wolverine #1 at #10 — as well as Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic's Secret Wars #7 at #4 and Brian Michael Bendis' Uncanny X-Men #600 at #8.

>Among the premier publishers, Image Comics' best-selling comic for November was Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's The Walking Dead #148 at #21. Dark Horse Comics' Fight Club 2 #7 was their top comic at #76. IDW Publishing's Back to the Future #2 was their top comic at #99.

>November's top non-premiere comic was Dynamite Entertainment's James Bond #1 at #69.

Willow Wilson, Dan Slott, Adrian Alphona, and Giuseppe Camuncoli's Ms. Marvel Volume 4: Last Days at #4; Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez's Spider-Gwen Volume 0: Most Wanted at #5; Deadpool Vs. Thanos at #6; and Star Wars: Kanan Volume 1: The Last Padawan at #9.

>Image Comics had two titles in the top ten — Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini's Low Volume 2: Before the Dawn Burns Us at #7 and Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples' Saga Volume 5 at #10.

>Rounding out the top ten was Dynamite Entertainment's Vampirella #1969, an anthology that celebrates the character's earliest days, at #8.

DKIII #1 has more variants than Invincible Iron Man #1. Beating a Marvel issue #1 in the amount of variants is like a once-in-a-generation happening for DC.
>>
>>78153096
>71 variants
You go, girl.
>>
>>78152626
>Fight Club 2
That's STILL happening?
>>78153146
Jesus fuck....I feel this is the end.
DC has truly tasted the power of variants, it won't be soon until they succumb to it as Marvel did.
>>78153088
To be fair it's not like that book had a snowball's chance in hell.
>>
>>78153316
Fight club's pretty insane, it's a never ending ride of entertainment
>>
>>78153316
>DC has truly tasted the power of variants, it won't be soon until they succumb to it as Marvel did.
I won't mind as long as they're movie-themed months and such. But we all know that fuckload of variants every year would feature Harley.
>>
>>78153316
>To be fair it's not like that book had a snowball's chance in hell.
That comic's TP's listing on Amazon having without a volume number in the title implies that the comic may soon be axed, although the digital sales are okay.
>>
>>78153367
It doesn't work like that.
Their little free monthly variants won't cut it anymore.
>>
>>78152779
But it's not selling low. It's selling lower than Marvel's comics, but it's still one of DC's highest selling. Hell, it's DC's highest selling book that doesn't star Batman.

This. Everyone remember to buy as many copies of the X-men comics as you can as a fuck you to the inhumans. I have all of them on my pull, and have gotten multiple copies of EXM. If we all work together and buy as much as we can, Marvel will realise that no one gives a fuck about the inhumans.
>>
>>78153146
Not just 71 variants, but one of them is a 1:5000 incentive. Think about that, a LCS would have to order 5000 copies just to get one copy of that variant. How many LCSes can actually even afford that? Midtown Comics is pretty much it.

Marvel did the same with Star Wars: Vader Down #1, and 12 copies are out there. Highest sold for $4000 I believe. One of the retailers said it cost $13,747.25 for him (though that also includes the 4999 other issues). Dynamic Forces had four of them. Not sure if that counts Chip Zdarsky's copy which he gave to charity (he was the artist on the cover).

I'd expect DK3 to have more than that.

>Where's Section 8?, Midnighter? Gotham Academy?
All either teetering at the cancellation line or below it and only not being cancelled because DC promised 12 issues for all ongoings.

In case you didn't realise this, the general comic buying public doesn't care about quality, they care about reading about their favorite characters. And for most people that read DC, their favorite character is Batman.

>>

yeah pretty much. i know a number of comic readers who will buy any piece of crap comic starring their favorite character, even if they know the comic is fucking terrible.

i mean look at All New Wolverine being in the top 10. it's not because people care about X-23 it's because it has "Wolverine" on it.
>>
>>78154912
Since the Burton movies, 90% of DC's media outside of comics has been Batman. Counting the Justice League cartoons, the only years Batman hasn't had a new animated series since TAS is 1996, 2012, and this year. DC has bred an entire generation of fans that only care about Batman.

>>

yeah in a way the Batman uprising to the point where he has more value to the publisher than Superman, their first hero, has been calculated since the late 80s/early 90s. It just took the public until the late-2000s to finally see the signs that have been there for decades.
>>
>>78155250
Howard the Duck is higher than I expected. Shocked that Avengers vs Infinity is on there at all, considering it's just an all-ages comic based on the cartoon. Disgusted by how low Moon Girl and Vision are.

Yeah, some people were surprised last month that Karnak was like the 29th best selling book of the month.

It's not the character, it's Warren Ellis. Some writers will sell no matter what.
>>
>>78155490
This. The sooner it gets cancelled the better. Keep the good stuff at DC. Last thing we need is King becoming a meme-writer.
>>
>>78152813

>>
I expect that the Vision numbers are going to jump for next month, now that everyone and their mother's been talking about it. I picked it up thinking that it looked interesting, but I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was.

Plus Marvel's giving retailers free copies, so that could help.
>>
>>78154956
Then buy their comics you fucking useless dumbshit.

Batman is the most popular because people buy his shit.

A retarded 20 something sitting in a basement crying like you, whilst illegally downloading good comics, isn't helping the cause.

HA! If only. Maybe then we would actually get some quality
>>
>>78155872
That's just like, your opinion man.

Vision is a very unique type of comic that we don't see very often from Marvel/DC. Omega Men is great too, but space shit isn't exactly anything out of the ordinary.
>>
>>78155978

You think "Robots want to feel" is a unique story?
>>
>>78154727
Dude, I hate Marvel, but not as much as I hate fucking characterfags. Follow writers, or artists, but telling Marvel that you'll support X-Men, even if they're being written shittily, just inspires them to throw even shittier writers on the books, because X-Fags will still lap it up.
>>
>>78154947

Third best, actually. Night of the Living Deadpool had a bit higher sales.
>>
>>78156521
A lowish Vertigo debut isn't horrible. Vertigo books are sustained with much lower sales, and I'm sure DC will give it a full run (it's only like 6, right?) for the sake of a trade that'll do fine longterm.
>>
>>78157268
I feel like they should just give Hickman LoSH if he wants it, even fucking Levitz gave up the ghost and nobody else wants to write it. If Hickman fucks up, so what, Legion eats reboots like candy.

Yeah but it being one of the lowest would be horrible, especially since it's not even close to being the worst book

last year there was double that amount

Less is not more especially for the X-Men, there's 100's of fan favorites fighting for page time and when the O5 and the 70's team eat up a majority of the books you can see why people are antsy, X-fans don't want to read Avengers to see Rogue and Cable and don't to read Inhumans at all.
