Bleeding Cool Bestseller List – 3rd July 2016 – Even With A Skip Week, DC Get Two Rebirth Comics Into The Top Ten

And despite all the fuss about Uncanny Inhumans, it didn’t chart. Not enough copies ordered it seems. And with DC Comics taking a skip week aside from Dark Knight Returns, their other placements are from previous weeks… showing that Rebirth can even get two in the top ten when they came out weeks ago.

1. Captain America: Steve Rogers #2
2. Darth Vader #22
3. Dark Knight III: The Master Race #5
4. Black Panther #3
5. Spider-Man/Deadpool #6
6. Extraordinary X-Men #11
7. Spider-Man #5
8. Batman Rebirth #1
9. Uncanny X-Men #9
10. DC Universe Rebirth #1

>8. Batman Rebirth #1
>10. DC Universe Rebirth #1
Holy shit, that's impressive!
>>
>>84236503
DC Universe Reboot was a MONTH ago.
>>
>Captain America Steve Rogers 2 had people complaining how it still felt like Marvel lied about it not being mind control but being reality control instead thanks to Marvel spoiling the issue on Tuesday. No idea how many people will be around for the 3rd issue. Lots of negative blow back from the stunt.

>Even worse for Marvel, Captain America: Steve Rogers #2 could only climb to FIFTH place in our store–and Uncanny Inhumans #11, with its hyped first appearance of a supposedly major new character, didn’t even make our Top Ten!

>Captain America: Steve Rogers #2 was the clear winner this week. That being said sales of this months DC rebirths titles beat all of the rest of this week’s new releases. So DC Rebirth appears to be unstoppable even during a skip week.

>Civil War tie ins still not really catching on in our store.

>Rodman Comics of Ankeny, Iowa
>Jetpack Comics of Rochester, New York
>Issues Needed Comics, Apple Valley, Minnesota
>Dr. No’s Comics & Games Superstore of Marietta, Georgia
>Graham Crackers Comics – 10 locations in the Mid-West
>Yesteryear Comics of San Diego, California
>Fat Jack’s Comicrypt of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
>Famous Faces & Funniesof West Melbourne, Florida.

>Who had this to say,

"While UNCANNY AVENGERS #11 could have easily made it on the charts for us, we simply did NOT order enough copies to cover the crazy speculator demand for the 1st appearance of Mosaic. Who’d have thunk it?"

"With it being a 5th Wednesday to the month it was a weird week. DC took the top spot with the Dark Knight III issue 5. Marvel took the rest of the slots with out any real challenge from DC. That said it was a heck of a drop off sales wise from the other Wednesdays in June. Marvel seems to have had a drop of interest. Uncanny Inhumans did well thanks to the intro of a certain new character."

"Captain America: Steve Rogers #2 was the clear winner this week. That being said sales of this months DC rebirths titles beat all of the rest of this week’s new releases. So DC Rebirth appears to be unstoppable even during a skip week."

"It’s no surprise that Dark Knight III: Master Race #5 would take first place in our store this week–after all, DC didn’t ship any new Rebirth titles. What IS surprising, though, is that DC took two Top Ten slots in our store with new printings of books for which we still have the earlier printings in stock! Even worse for Marvel, Captain America: Steve Rogers #2 could only climb to FIFTH place in our store–and Uncanny Inhumans #11, with its hyped first appearance of a supposedly major new character, didn’t even make our Top Ten! We still have ample stacks of both should readers decide to pick them up later–but with a full wave of Rebirth books slated for release next week, this week was Marvel’s last big shot at knocking DC out of the Top Ten, and it failed pretty spectacularly with our customers."

"Strong sales of Silver Age Spider-Man and single issues of the original Watchmen series were the only noteworthy trends this week."

"A great week once again and that was with mostly just 2nd and 3rd prints coming out.Dark Knight took the top spot with nothing even coming close to be considered competition."

"Daredevil and Ultimate Spider-Man selling in the back-issue market.Weird combination but i actually believe these books will be read…refreashing.
Marvel returns this week since DC had a skip week with a few annuals and little fanfare. The real challenge is next week when DC has their second issues ship and launches a few more books in July. Should be interesting. Civil War tie ins still not really catching on in our store."

>we simply did NOT order enough copies to cover the crazy speculator demand for the 1st appearance of Mosaic
Next Spider-Man right there. It'll be worth 20 billion bottle caps in the future.

Bleedingcool ... ugh
The only /co/ site worth something AND with real journalists is ComicsAlliance
>>
Curious to see how the Now books do. Will there be an insane drop off at issue 2? Terrible launches for issue 1s? Business as usual?
>>
>>84236714
I think it depends who they put on the upcoming Now books.
>>
>>84236552
Haha nice.
>>
>>84236694
Go away, Kate Leth
>>
>>84236570
When did Uncanny Avengers #11 come out? I didn't see it in the Win-O and can't find it in the archives.
>>
>>84236714
All-new Marvel had a huge drop at #2, but Now might actually shake things up, replacing New Avengers with U.S.Avengers for example.
>>
ANAD Avengers didn't even make the top 10
>>
>>84236694
>ugh hang yourself
>>
>>84238019
they meant uncanny inhumans #11
>>
DC is in the middle of a relaunch, they're going to sell more than Marvel for now. The real challenge will be to see their numbers when everything normalizes.
>>
>>84236557

>Reboot

There's that word again
>>
>>84236503
DC's week off and STILL nabbing top ten spots
>>
>>84239118

Just like DCYou, right?
>>
>>84239118
DC is going safe by putting out core titles which are sure to sell, twice a week. So a couple of issues of Batman, Harley Quinn and JL are sure to be in top 10. So DC will have 6 issues in the top 10 every month. While Marvel will fuck up by trying to push more diversity and teen characters during Marvel now.
>>
>>84236503

>Cap is really a Hydra agent for real guys
>Literally next issue show that isn't true

I seriously think only cucks pay for Marvel books anymore.
>>
>>84238037

I don't know mate. There was a pretty damning poll the other day. People just don't seem interested in Marvel Now
>>
>>84239198
Pretty sure he meant Rebirth.
>>
>>84239215
DCYou bombed though.
>>
>>84239549

Exactly
>>
>>84239293
I'm surprised they revealed it in issue two. Slott kept Superior going for like a year. I thought Spener would kept it secret for awhile. At least til issue 5. Not the second issue!
>>
>>84239293
They probably changed it due to the progressive types they Marvel normally aims for started levying accusations of anti-semitism at them. If no one kicked up a fuss but the people mad about the mass immigration into Europe they probably aimed for with the Red Skull's speech, Hydra Cap probably would've lasted a little longer.
>>
>>84239697
Issue #2 would've been written before #1 came out, though, so they must've planned like that pretty early on.
>>
>>84239118

Yep. When NEW 52 launched DC was outselling Marvel.

>who would have thought a heavily advertised character would increase sales on their debut
>>
>>84239723
They may have had two differnet #2's ready waiting for fan reaction, like Jason Todd surviving being drawn up. But then again, that'd be too clever for Marvel, and the simplest solution is that they didn't have the balls to make the change last and played it up for shock and sales.
>>
>>84239586
No from the start retard, it didn't have books that are a month old selling extremely highly in new printings
You are fucking dense

>Good
Ayy
>>
>>84239889

But it was a relaunch and relaunches always sell well, right!
>>
>>84239822
Didn't #2 and #3 get delayed by 2 weeks for rewrites?
>>
>>84239973
No clue, don't have a source.
>>
>>84239822

What happened is that they had a little story set for Cap but had nothing to take interest away from Rebirth so they blew this Hydra shit way out of proportion because it's all they had
>>
>>84239822
The DitF thing only had two seperate pages drawn because it was an actual poll, so both outcomes were equally likely. Seems too elaborate for something like this, so I suppose they really meant to walk it back immediately, lol.
>>
>>84239973
For rewrites, we don't know, but pretty much everything but to issue 5 got delayed a couple weeks each
>>
>>84239973
They got delayed by a week or two each but I sincerely doubt it was to rewrite anything
>>
>>84239347
Wasn't Marvel Now like 2 years ago
>>
>>84239791

Kek. Yep. Some of these LCS guys are out of touch with the Market. My LCS will
order a metric ton of Civil War IIs but then will be all out of Spiderman/Deadpools and Black Panthers by mid-afternoon Wednesday. This is why every Spiderman/ Deadpool issue is getting a bunch of printings. LCS guys STILL haven't caught on.
>>
>>84240120
I think the first NOW was in like 2012

they're doing Marvel NOW again this fall
>>
>>84239995
I think this is most likely, kek. And it worked for 10 seconds!!
>>
Soo did uncanny inhumans 11 do well ?
>>
>>84239791
Well he is talking about inhumans.
>>
>>84240193
It would seem so, Alonso confirmed that it sold out on the distribution level and needed a second printing on friday, and now we have bleeding cool saying they ran out of copies.
>>
>>84240168
>calling it NOW for the second

Sums up the current state of Disney comics
>>
>>84240300
It wouldn't be the first time, didn't they use All new all different in the 90s or 80s
>>
>>84240406
All New All Different X-Men was their tagline for that series over 40 years ago.
