So I was vaguely aware that Black Widow went though a Pamela Anderson phase, but I always dismissed it as just a generic cheesecake book. Then I run across an old ad for it and...Greg Rucka wrote this?
Is it actually good?
No idea, but Rucka on a badass lady book probably isn't awful. Going in blind and just reading it yourself is probably safe.

That's because of those garbage softcore poser covers. The whole Yelena Belova saga during the MAX/Marvel Knights era is pretty enjoyable, some stories more than others.
It's basically a trilogy, Black Widow: Pale Little Spider / Black Widow 1999 Mini-series / Black Widow: Breakdown
The Mini-series is the weakest link because it feels like they were making the plot up as they went along, and it's also the only one withouth Rucka on the lead. Breakdown is the strongest story, with beautiful painted artwork by Hampton.

See, the problem is, I never found Greg Horn's art sexy, his girl look like they're made of plastic. It's the worst kind of tracing. Give me sexy spy chicks all day every day, but they actually have to be sexy.

While somewhat on the topic, I really dislike these kind of covers that is nothing like the story or art inside. I like cheesecake but it feels skeavy just opening this.
