This references 4001 A.D.: X-O Manowar #1.
Never heard of the "4001AD" before Is it about the ABC warriors?
Are there any /co/ reading guides for pulp comics? I'm interested in learning more about fantasy and sc-fi pulp comics and I have absolutely no idea where to start.

Pic unrelated, I guess. I didn't even notice that. I just got it off google images to make the thread.

Technically there is no such thing as "pulp comics". "Pulp" were magazines that contained short fictional prose stories by popular authors. These were popular in the 20s and 30s or thereabouts.
If you can define what you're looking for in comics more clearly it'll be easier to recommend stuff for you.
The Shadow, The Spirit, The Question, Heavy Metal/Epic comics, Dr. Spektor and Dr. Solar and miscellaneous Gold Key comics, Tarzan, Corto Maltese, things like that.
Look at the EC/Dark Horse series of reprints and just pick some titles - for the most part (due to the infantile nature of the medium back then) they won't be good, but they'll be classic.
This scene was better than the scene that follows it. It was the one time I actually thought shit would end badly for everyone.
Why is Stryker such a fucking cunt?
He literally would gladly put a bullet behind the skull of a mutant child because "IF I CAN'T WEAPONIZE IT ITS FUCKING CANCEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE EXTERMINATED"
I already bitch that Garrett was the worst thing in the Marvel Universe then that became Talbot
Now its Stryker
>>83468839
>Why is Stryker such a fucking cunt?
Because his mutant kid killed his wi-
did that even fucking happen yet?
>>83468839
How was Garrett bad? I can agree with Talbot, but I'm not seeing the beef with Garrett.
R. I. P. the champ
>his weird quirks and neurosis isn't because he's the son of lesbians
>it's because of a minor physical deformity
Feels like a cop-out, don't you think?
You have any idea what kind of hot water CN is in right now after their "Transphobic" views in the PPG reboot?
They say one bad thing about lesbians BOOM 1/3 of CN fanbase boycotts the company and they need that fanbase to keep Adventure Time alive

I always thought Jeff was that way because he's a square. He even wears socks with sandals.
His personality is the shape of his head.
What if OP had an enlarged frontal lobe?
I'm trying to read X-23's stuff up to the present, but my... source, ends with 2014's All-New X-Men. Laura seems to just from book to book so often I somehow doubt sticking with All-New to 2016 will allow me to follow her story all the way.
What other titles was she in from 2014 to the present? Is there somewhere with a list? The Marvel wiki just seems to say what books she has popped up in, but not what issues. There is a two-year gap here I'm missing right now until All-New Wolverine.
And what is she involved in now? Is she a big player in...

I use comic vine for figuring of stuff like this.

Hey fellow anon and fellow lover of X-23. I made a thread just like this a week ago and got some good help from /co/. This is the chronological order I got out of everyone's responses. Hope this helps, I'm actually in the middle of catching up on all of her stories as well so sorry if I'm not all that helpful. Don't know the year of release for these stories, so not sure how much this will help.

Circle of Four was pretty good too. Think it would go between X-23 and Avengers Academy.
What a cringeworthy pile of shit, I hope this movie bombs.
>>83468353
Are you fucking kidding OP? It wasn't great, but it wasn't outright shit. Certainly leagues better than the first film.
>>83468353
Are you the same anaon who complained about the Krank design?
What is that reverse-Shilling? Do you work for the studios and post negative post so that people will defend the movie?
(The Mohawk could be better, though).
TMNT sucks. What did you expect?

>Final Libations
Aesma and the Red Eyed King
Part 1
Once, and always, there was Aesma Ten Yondam, who was a very powerful goddess. She had anywhere from two to forty five arms, she was exceptionally strong, and had an insatiable red hunger for dominion. She knew five ways of smiling, ten of the forty five forms, and all the syllables of Royalty, though she understood none of them. In her blackened heart she let many wicked schemes and plans ripen and kindled an endless rage against the inadequacy of the universe, which made her one of YISUN’s favored companions. She was poor...

“That’s better,” sighed Aesma, when the dust had settled and the sea had finished boiling. “Hey,” said Aesma to the battered and bloodied pilgrims as an idea struck her, “Where can I get some wine about here?”
“Foul creature! If it’s nourishment thou seeks, get thee the great and holy Temple of the Disc of the Sun,” croaked a furious pilgrim. “Drink thee of the consecrated wine there, not thy common lecher’s milk, and purify thy fetid soul!” Aesma was grateful, and turned the man into...

The priests offered libations and chants to the great altar of the Sun there, and payed homage to the stars, and studied in minute detail the nature of a man’s soul. Each was a scientist and philosopher of clean and manly visage, who wore a neatly pressed apron. He discarded ostentation and valued virtue above all else. Members of the temple spent many hours contemplating the proper roles for women and men, the just ways of proper rulership, and the ways in which a man’s perfect qualities could be compounded...

>What is this storytime series all about?
Everyday for the month of June 2016 (the rare 616 Month), I storytime certain old Earth-616 Marvel Comics issues on their anniversary/if there's pottery when their respective release dates and issue & volume issues align. Watch out for the consecutive appearances of the numbers 6, 1, and 6.
>For what purpose?
Milestone celebrations of Earth-616, Universe-7 (the mainstream Marvel Universe before the 2015 event "Secret Wars").

what kind of relationship do the Swamp Thing and Poison Ivy have with each other? Is Poison Ivy officially an agent of The Green in the new 52?
>>83467612
>New 52.
That's funny. You are funny.
>>83467612
The better question is...
Can she take the Vine?
>>83467793
well I don't know what else to call it, it's the continuity where the Red and the Green and the Grey get established, I think
Is this good even if I'm in my 20s and haven't read much Spider-Man before? I tried getting into it before and it felt like they were laying on the teen drama aspect of it really thick. Is that just what Spider-Man is? Is it already too late for me to become a fan?
>>83467453
It's never too late to be a fan. And no, Spider-Man isn't typically about teen drama, most famous Spider-Man stories take place when he's in college or later. Ultimate Spider-Man is its own thing in a universe that no longer exists
>>83467533
Should I just not read USM, then? That was what most people recommended me.
>>83467624
if you don't like it, stop and read the ASM run instead.
Why was she so obsessed about graduating from a Beauty Academy and her stupid Christian Puppet Show when she was already a talented mechanic
Hank even commends her that she has a useful skill Bobby fails at
>>83467425
Progressively through the seasons Luanne becomes a more and more horrible person. Not simply Peggy Hill horrible, but outright malicious and overtly selfish.
Whether this was just natural evolution of her character given her parents are trash and her guardian is a cunt or something done on purpose to show how much of a better person Lucky is than her is debatable.
>>83467508
I think this might be intentional
Luanne's father was a raging redneck white trash alcoholic and so was her mom who was also a severe druggie with psychotic anger issues
Luanne has the worst genes of both
>>83467425
They never dropped it so much as never did anything with it in the first place. Every time it came up (about twice in both the first and second seasons, and once in season 13), it was only a small detail in an episode about something/someone else. It was never mentioned or featured in a Luanne-centric episode.
I know people wanted plotlines like Hank reluctantly bonding with Luanne about her knowledge of cars or Luanne realizing that she was pursuing beauty school instead of utilizing the talents she already...
