Why "actually"?
This is not a new trend. Only /co/ still brags about muh dying industry.

>Well the latest name to be mentioned taking over one of the big books at DC Comics for the Rebirth event, is Dan Jurgens. Which may be part of Geoff Johns desire to bring a little more about what worked fir the characters in the past.
>Action Comics is one of the series returning to its original numbering, with an issue 1000 in its sights. So who better to join the book than the man who wrote and drew the best selling Superman comic in recent decades, Superman #75?

Is Dan Jurgens any good? I've never read any of his stuff.
>Dan Jurgens on Action Comics
>Marguerite Bennett on Wonder Woman
DC why?
>>80448644
No. Painfully mediocre at best.
>>80448644
No.
What was the point of this?
To put Dipper's betaness in perspective.
Wish fulfillment.
>>80448509
To pad out a shitty season.
Who's going to take up the mantle?
>>80448094
My moneys on Falcon.
Bucky. Stan has a 9 movie contract and I'll eat my hat if he doesn't take on the Captain America role at some point.
They'll kill Sam and have Black Panther become the new Captain America.
What determines why something gets popular?
Why did Frozen make a billion dollars but Tangled only half of that?
Why does Good Dinosaur do poorly but Despicable Me 2 make a billion dollars and get nominated for Best Animated Picture?
Why does Venture Brothers have 1/8th the vocal fanbase of Steven Universe despite both being decent serialized cartoons suffering from hiatuses on the same channel?
Why does something like Adventure Time or Regular Show become a breakout hit while Wander Over Yonder or We Bare Bears kind of just stays small?
Is there actually...

steven univese sucks gigantic donkey balls, don't you ever compare it to greatness of the Venture Bros.
>Why did Frozen make a billion dollars but Tangled only half of that?
Really persistent marketing, also Elsa is appealing because she is both pretty and powerful
> Why does Good Dinosaur do poorly but Despicable Me 2 make a billion dollars and get nominated for Best Animated Picture?
Minions, minions and more minions
The BANANA and high pitched voices make people laugh histerically, including kids. Also The Good Dinosaur has a lousy marketing
I could say the same things about the...

People get paid mad money to analyze exactly that. There's a ton of factors going on at any given time.
"phffft"
>>80436678
Explosions are unisex.
>Maddie's dad is dead
Aw shit, that's too bad
Is this the new homestuck?
My external HD just died and I'm looking to rebuild my comic collection, /co/mrades.
Can any of you recommend great one-shots/limited series/elseworlds/etc that you think EVERYONE who is a comic fan should read?
Friendly bump.
Everyone who is a comic fan should read Cerebus the Aardvark. It's one of the most important and influential series of all time, and it holds the world record for longest English-language comic ever made by a single author. To quote Alan Moore:
>"Cerebus, as if I need to say so, is still to comic books what Hydrogen is to the Periodic Table, and is one of the only comics that I still read and enjoy regularly every month."
t. Cerebus shill
>>80448706
Iiiiii enjoyed Cerebus up until Sim lost his goddamn mind and became a raging misogynist.
Outside of that, solid 9/10 would read again.
Right now, I'm looking into getting stuff like:
- Maus
- We3
- The DMZ
- Superman: Red Son
- Old Man Logan
- The Hulk: THE END
- American Virgin
- Y: The Last Man
etc, etc, etc

>Iiiiii enjoyed Cerebus up until Sim lost his goddamn mind and became a raging misogynist.
It never stops being bad. Cerebus is the pinnacle of the comics medium. No American creator has ever come close.
Was this the dumbest explanation ever?
also was superman even listening to her?
I dunno.
>>80446265
I think she's just being lewd.
>>80446265
>dumbest explanation ever
Yes. It's like why Batman doesn't kill the Joker. The real answer is fanboy shekels. In-universe explanations always seem laughably retarded. THE BOOB WINDOW IS CAUSE FANBOYS ARE UNDERSEXED NECKBEAREDS WHO WANT TO SEE TITS STOP TALKING ABOUT IT
Okay, so what if Hulk is depicted as Hymir in Thor: Ragnarok? How would you react?
>>80446220
I would not care because no force on Earth could convince me to watch another Thor movie after The Dark World
>>80446396
I too, sir, am an epic contratarian
Will she ever have a solo?
>>80445184
No
she was just a pawn so that people couldn't complain about comics being too "sexist"
Is she even canon
>>80445184
She has to get a personality and characterization first. The only people who like Carrie Kelly are pedos and wannabe progressives.
>Bob, Agent of Ayy
>>80443677
It's the Deadpool vs. Gambit #1 variant cover by Tim Seeley.

Tigra, Night Nurse (surprised she still exists), Boom Boom, Squirrel Girl (cute! lewd!), Misty, er...
Who's the green woman?
>>80443677
Is Tabby back to her Nextwave look? Neato. Also kind of weird to see Squirrel Girl in this context.
Have you ever read an entire comic book series, I'm working on pic related
yes, Nova
>>80443663
Read online all the Dilbert from beginning to end, if that counts.
Other than that, mostly stuff that no matter how long the run always had an intention to have a beginning and end
like Fables, or Y the Last Man, or other things that went on for quite a while but never got past the 200 mark
Yup, all of Robin, Animal Man, Nightwing, original Young Justice, various DC runs that I'm forgetting right now.
My current long-goal project is to read all of Batman and Detective Comics, it's pretty daunting.
I don't recall there being a thread about it when it first came out, but I'd say this is plenty /co/-related.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy_JlG7C-T8
Jontron hate thread?
Some good animation and some crap animation. It was alright
>inb4 TENOUTTATEN
>>80443182
>hating that adorable Persian butterball
>mfw
>>80443192
Eh, the pixel animation and that cgi near the end weren't so great, but there was some damn good stuff used for the choruses. I'd say the good outweighed the bad. The animators seemed at the best when they remembered Jontron's kinda chubbyand don't include fucking tumblr nose.
>The sequel to Man of Steel is a Superman standalone!
>It's only setting up Batman and Superman!
>There's just the Trinity!
>Aquaman and Cyborg have minor background cameos!
>We aren't even THINKING about The Flash!
>Of course Doomsday's not appearing!
>Green Lantern isn't in it!
You fucks are so gullible
This is what I'm betting on
Dan Amboyer doing everything he can to avoid saying he's Green Lantern seals it for me. Hal Jordan is in this, at least
>>80441815
Superfriends sequel confirmed!
>It's not the Justice League without Green Lantern
He's gonna be in it
What happened to Blade's sidecut OC daughter?
Wasn't she supposed to helm a new series?
>>80440604
Movie/TV synergy can make or break.
There is a new Blade film that is supposedly in pre-production but no updates from that since then.
>>80440604
Delayed
>>80440604
Does anyone care about Blade outside of the Wesley Snipes movies?
