When Spider-man was out of costume how come they had to do the half mask thing when his spider sense went off? Aren't the lines enough to let the reader know his spiders sense is tingling?
>>80537833
Yeah, but this is more visually pleasing.
>yfw MCU Spider Man does this
I guess so that readers don't get confused between Spider Sense and whenever Peter is just generally alarmed.
(Yes I know they look different)

Cause it looks cool as fuck.
>Hero shouts "Heads up" right before blindsiding the villain
>Villain dodges because the hero announced the attack
>I'm fuckin ur mum in the snatch
>She shits all over me when she cums
>villain traps the MCs

>kills one of them
>"my master plan was to kill you annoying fuckers"
>character gets stabbed
>"knife to meet you"
playful joker > edgy joker
>>80536423
Hamil's Joker was the perfect balance of both, imo.
How about playfully edgy?
Recurring villains are idiotic in general. The Joker can be good as a one-off, two-parter, or maybe a three-parter. But infinitely recurring villains are a dumb comic-book idea that makes the hero look incompetent and the villain even moreso because they keep failing over and over and over.
I don't know how to tell you this but...House of M is pretty good in retrospect.

Given what Marvel events we're getting, I'd kill for something like House of M or Dark Reign.

I always thought it was pretty good. It's a decent AU on its own, as well. What was NOT good about it was that it basically started the yearly event where EVERYTHING CHANGES.

What are your thoughts on Daniel West?
Was he a good Reverse Flash?
Is he stronger than the other reverses?
He was OK. Shame Suicide Squad removed him from picture, guess we'd be all confused with so many Reverse Flashes running around.
>>80535714
He was alright.
Not great from the outset, but he had a huge amount of potential.
He had a design that got pretty good when you got used to it, and a very petty way of doing things.
And the end of the first arc so perfectly sets him up to just hate the Flash.
Then Venditti gets him out of the picture and sorta deflates all that.
He was okay in Suicide Squad though.
>>80535714
He "died" saving a town full of children from a literal time bomb. Like he wasn't the best but certainly better than vendittis version like what the fuck
/co/ I have a question. What happened to the "Essential" the classic run, the OGN quoted everywhere the trades comic shops put in the front shelf and inspire films.
It seems this decade hasnt had a New Classic. Of all the goats and key recs and various great book pantheons, I think All Star Superman is the most recent.
Dont get me wrong, there are good books, but it seems no run or ogn has been able to become a break out icon like Watchmen, TDK, Kingdom Come, Or All Star Superman has. Not even a Long Halloween or hell Hush has really come to the forefront.
Why...

>What happened to the "Essential" the classic run
We don't call "modern" rock music "classic" rock music because the songs haven't fermented long enough in the public consciousness. There are modern runs and books that are great, but they won't be classic for a few years.
There's also the issue of a fractured market that, thanks to the internet, deems there will be no universally beloved works in the same way we'll never have a Beatles or a Rolling Stones ever again. It has nothing...

This, pretty much.
It's why every Age of comics has been or is the Modern Age of Comics because we aren't actually out of the Age. And it won't be a while until we recognize that we are in a new Age and that...

It's a deliberately controversial position that is designed to be arguable from both sides in order to spark more interest in the Simpsons through controversy.
Or maybe my cynicism has finally hit high tide.
At least Lisa has someone argue with her for once.
It's like listening to someone tell Seth MacFarlane to shut his goddamn maw for once in his life.
I lost interest in politics long ago because everyone is an asshole and no one will shut the fuck up.
>>80533673
that Lisa is a shitty character that needs to learn that the world doesn't revolve around her and that homer should have given her a good butt slapping session instead of letting her do whatever the fuck she wants
let me guess
this changed nothing
>CBR News: "Super League" must be massive if DC Comics is giving you all four Superman books -- for two months -- to tell your story.
>Peter Tomasi: It's an amazing opportunity to have -- for two months -- every Super-book in the palm of your hand. As much fun as I had with Greg [Pak] and Gene [Yang] and Aaron [Kuder], to suddenly be thrown into your own sandbox by yourself is just as much fun. It's really interesting to have each title in your hand and being able to just really swing for the fences...

>His first call goes to Batman. If Batman was making a Bat League, would Superman be his first call?
>Yes. In my writing head, it would. I think Batman/Bruce knows what Superman/Clark brings to the table. I think Superman would definitely be his first call. Some other writers and fans might disagree, but in my head, I've always loved the pairing of those two guys. Obviously, their own disparate elements that they bring and their different perspectives on the world, I think that's what makes them as interesting as hell. They balance each other nicely.
>The new "Supergirl" TV series has been a surprise hit, and Kara, perhaps, has never been more popular. Why do you think TV viewers have responded so well to "Supergirl" and have you taken anything from Melissa Benoist's portrayal to influence your take on the character?
>The funny thing is that Supergirl's popularity right now and the fact that she is on her own TV show had no bearing on how I was thinking about the story when I was constructing it. It actually played out organically based on who and what she is as to why she is included in the story. It's a cherry on the top that Supergirl, at the moment, is in a real popular TV show . She is getting a lot of press right now, which suddenly shines more light on her as a character. But the way that I built out the story for these eight issues, the role Supergirl plays is just something that occurs organically because of where she comes from.
SUPERGIRL IS BACK
If I get 90s Superboy back out of this I'll read whatever
With always trying to one up zuko and only being able to stand being next to him if he is subserviant to her.
>>80532807
> Trying to one-up Zuko
> Trying to
She almost always wrecks Zuko every time she encounters him. And anyway, she tries to one-up literally everyone she meets except for her father.
She doesn't have penis envy, just a huge superiority complex.
There were some pretty good signs (and admittance) in the series and in the book that Azula was jealous of Zuko because he was their mother favorite.
Because of that she always tried to one up in everything.
Now about the penis envy hm maybe that played some part too.
>>80533006
> Jealous of Zuko because he was their mothers favorite
I think that may have been her longing for the mother more than the jealousy of Zuko, as shown by OP's pic, she clearly had mother issues, whether or not she actually wanted her mother to love her or just that she wanted to be the perfect child in the eyes of both her parents, it's hard to say.
