>While Bendis went on to say something big happens in issue #2 of the event, something very unique happens with the Hulk. Bendis jokingly said he'll have to unplug his computer for a couple days. This will be a highly debated moment in the story.
>As far as the tie-in issues go, some tie-ins will be precursors and some will take place right after a scene in the CWII book. Ms. Marvel will tell a Ms. Marvel story without being a "generic Marvel book,"...

>Bendis jokes that Chip Zdarsky isn't taking the story seriously in HOWARD THE DUCK, and it's almost like he's making fun of the CWII creators.
>almost
Bendis, that's probably EXACTLY what he's doing.
>reading Wonder Woman comics from 2001
>Wonder Woman isn't "Warrior Woman" yet, doesn't carry a sword
>The stories aren't balls deep in cliche Greek mythological shit but still there's creative magical elements, more plot depth and world building
>This isn't an action series so there's A LOT more text
>Art isn't shit
>Diana is likeable
Who's run are you talking about?
>>81276885
Just started, pic related, Jimenez
>reading Wonder Woman comics from before 1985
>Wonder Woman is an astronaut.
>Diana is the granddaughter of Ares and has an absent father that was lost at sea.
>Themyiscira has casual access to time travel and space cruisers
John Constantine: Hellblazer. This comic has brought much joy to my life. I can't think of any character that has been written by so many of the greats. Alan Moore, Jamie Delano, Garth Ennis, Warren Ellis, Brian Azzarello, all of them bringing their own unique perspective to the series. I'm partial to the Ennis run myself. What about you, /co/?
Does this forum not discuss any comics that aren't superhero trash?

When will the seven dirty words be allowed on television?
>>81275203
The only thing I've enjoyedthat i've readby Garth Ennis was Hellblazer, and it was phenomenal. I'm probably going to restart it now, damn you.
So why is Wonder Woman the bset hero in the DCU? Why is it that she could beat literally any other hero?
If anyone implies that she can't beat someone, her "fan"base riots
It just seems people always worry about superman going rogue when wonder woman is the biggest threat which I think is bullshit
>>81350294
>her "fan"base riots
She has a fan base?
I assume the quotation marks mean 'people who say they like wonder-women because she is a well known female super hero'
>alien race invades earth
>propose that fate of the planet belongs to the winner of a sports game of their choosing

Lapis Lazuli is the key to all of this.
She's a funnier character than we've had before
>>81273751Loved her in the Barn Mates clip. She just basically fucking touched the Homeworld tracking device and it fucking exploded
Good to see best gem is coming back
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER FACE
Getting back into comics after a long break and going through all the usual suggestions but I'm curious about something else. Everyone knows the jokes about the nineties: Liefield. McFarlane. XXXtreme. Swears and swords. 'These ain't your parents comics!!!'
Even assuming those stories are true and the entire decade hasn't been vilified by repetition of memes and re-posting bad art for easy e-cred, it can't have been an entire decade of garbage. What good stuff did we get, capes or not?

Nothing. Comics stopped being good in the 80's. Thanks to books like Watchmen and DKR everyone tried being extra edgy in an attempt to imitate it but did a poor job of it. Things are only starting get better now because comics are being aimed at "normies/casuals" instead of neckbeards and children

Vertigo dude.
Sandman was a 90's comic.
Stray Bullets
Dark Horse Presents
Astro City
Peter David's Hulk
Hitman
Starman
Giffen's Legion
like, 95% of what Vertigo put out
Why was old Spongebob so mean spirited?
>>81272954
Only Squidward was mean-spirited and that's because that was his defining character trait. He's not so bad anymore.
It's a story about two mentally-challenged 20-year-olds struggling to succeed in daily life.

What's /co/'s general opinion on Clarence?
Best show on Cartoon Network, but it doesn't get enough love.
The Secret of Nimh episode was pretty good. The song was catchy as well.

So last week the animation software used in several studio Ghibli films as well as cartoons like Futurama has become open sourced and is available for free.
Are there any animators on /co/ trying this program out? If so how do you think it compares to Toon Boom or Flash? Will this help inspire/improve independent animators?
Saw some stuff on tumblr about it but seems still pretty early. I'm waiting for an in depth comparison to ToonBoom.
You should look in /ic/ though, I think someone might be talking about it by now.

How much weed would it take for Superman to get high?
>>81271321
Who the fuck cares
Also you should feel like a shitty little edgelord for taking something so degenerate and wrong and even thinking about applying it to something so wholesome and child friendly as a superhero
I bet you like those epic mario weed mushroom xD videos on youtube
>>81271369
>Superman
>wholesome or child friendly
Please, he isn't Iron Man or Spider-Man. He kills people.
I HAVE WAITED A LONG TIME FOR AN EXCUSE TO POST THIS HERE
Hey /co/ this seems like a topic that will go off without a hitch and be discussed civilly.
At what point does a caricature of a nonwhite become racist? Is it in physical depiction or is personality an important factor? Should one always bring in historical/cultural context? Should different cultures be given different allowances? Should it even be a concern?
>nonwhite
>>81270511
Yeah, not a lot of people consider caricatures of whites racist, I mean you've gotta try pretty hard and even then it's typically a tiny minority that are any kind of offended.
>>81270474
I think for any race, the depiction becomes racist when it's created with the intention to claim that a race is inferior. I would say most racist jokes are not racist but are rather poking fun at the differences we perceive between races of people. If anything, I'd say a lot of the humor from racist jokes comes from how 'offensive' they are.
