So besides plot armor, why doesnt stuff like Stanford or Gwen Stacy happen a lot?
>>81550308
Because readers expect things to return to the status quo
>>81550308
Because it's hard to balance it into a good story, especially since superhero shit is mainly fun escapism.
Gwen Stacy was a big turning point for Spidey, but Stanford is the focal point of one of the worst stories in Marvel's publishing history.

>So besides plot armor, why doesnt stuff like Stanford or Gwen Stacy happen a lot?
They happen. Just not in America and Marvel hates consequences.
That's all. When half of your stories are confined to just one city most problems can be solved.
Gravity Falls Season 3, how would you do it? Alex can't be trusted to create the new continuation of our beloved franchise. I'm giving you the reigns to continue the story properly.
Episode one. All the characters have sex with each other at once. The entire episode is just a 22 minute orgy of everyone doing it in every possible position in all orifices.
Episode two to end. The rest doesn't matter. Do whatever you want.

You're fired.

Bill doesn't even have private parts.
Or does he...?
WARNING: Contains some ironic behavior.
QUICK /co/ ! ! !
YOU GOTTA POST A CARTOON TO SAVE IT FROM BEING REBOOTED
DON'T MEET THE SAME FATE AS PPG

>Reboots are bad
Kill yourself
>>81549976
Rarely have a reboot ever been good.
What current Marvel books should I be reading?
I haven't been reading Marvel since pre Secret Wars
But the other day I picked up all of Ultimates and New Avengers and they were amazing. I also picked up everything from Avengers: Standoff and loved it.
I'm a little lost with all of the soft reboots lately. What should I be checking out?
>>81549715
VISION
>>81549715
Vision is great. My favorite along with Ultimates.
Black Widow, Hercules, Squadron Supreme, Captain Marvel and Karnak are also pretty good.
>>81549789
Oh and Contest of Champions, forgot about that. Definitely read it if you like Ultimates and New Avengers, it's written by the same guy.
What's the verdict on this?
I fucking loved it, it's just a shame how the villain wasn't anyone with a recognisable name. They should have called him The Bogeyman or something.
I run tabletop games, every Christmas do a little mini-arc. Always feature this Santa.
>>81549331
The tooth fairy was cute. SS with Jack was nice.
>>81549363
It was the Boogeyman though.
I am the Shredder!
>>81549271
I'm not even mad the best shredder is KRANG
>>81549312
Truth be toldI thought it was weird at first, but he stayed psycho crazy till the end and I found myself loving him even more with the twist.
>>81549271
>RUSSEL! GET YO' ASS OUT HERE AND KILL THEM SONVABITCHIN NINJA TURTLES! But you leave that there one with them nunchucks to me, those nunchucks are mine! You here me!? THE NUNCHUCKS ARE MINE! WAHOOO!
So i just finished scott pilgrim. literally just burned through all 6 volumes in a day. i thought it was great, though the last sequence with all the glow and subspace craziness was a bit tough to wrap my head around on the first go. What did you folks like better, the movie ending or the comic ending? who was best girl?
also i'll just be posting some screenshots because why not
The hype for this is SOOOO dead that the last issue had a storytime that lasted only 2 hours alive.
Is this the final prove Johns should stay away from the New Gods forever?
>>81549041
>DC BENDIS! DC BENDIS!
>>81549061
>johnsfags will defend that the storytime didnt even last 4 hours
>>81549041
King's GL issue lasted even less first time it was storytimed.
Do you suppose that somewhere in the Marvel Multiverse there's an Earth where all the things that happened on these Timely Comics WWII covers happened? Where Namor, Jim Hammond, Captain America, Bucky, and others somehow also had the power to change their size and killed scores of Axis soldiers? Would the war end early? Would they just go off and change the course of other wars before fighting amongst themselves?

So from what I've heard New York is quite nice now, so why do comics still present it as a shithole?
>>81548839
Haven't been to NYC but I'm sure it's like any big city, there are parts of town you just don't fucking go to.
Also from what I've heard it progressively got better so after 60 years of having character operate there and the entire fanbase bitches and moans at the slightest change of status quo, they figured might as well keep their asses there.
>>81548839
In MCU NYC is shit because of "the battle of NY" or "the incident" whatever its called
>>81548862
Manhattan has basically shaped into Hipster central (Lots of gluten-free and vegan restaurants, fashion stores, and Starbucks) while the more shitty parts of the city, like Harlem, have become prime spots for families.
The other boroughs are definitely not as bad as they were a decade or two ago, but you'll still find more crime in Bronx and Brooklyn than Manhattan.
Too many cartoons have neglectful parents. Let's post some positive parent-child relationships.
Pic related.

Grandparents count.
Since we're currently shitting on Snyder thanks to BvS, how does /co/ feel about this particular movie?
>>81548349
Never seen it. I don't like owls.
>>81548349
I know it was kind of the point, but Metalbeak was too much of a little bitch.
Favorite character was the bard owl.
>>81548349
Two fantastic scenes.
Other than that the characters are bland as fuck, and they tried condensing the worst parts of the first three books into one barely coherent storyline.
>Hyping Ant Arrow Combo
>Scarlet Witch tossing a truck

>le bland airport fight meme

>>le bland airport fight meme
Surely though they could have chosen another location.
>>81548390
well, no. team cap wants to get Bucky onto a plane and escape. team IM want to arrest team Cap so Hydra can brainwash them all into being loyal dogs of the government
>>81548477
>>81548286
that doesn't mean the location isn't crappy and pathetic
they use a simple and stupid story element to give us a bland and boring location where they can use as many space as possible
that shit is CW (arrow, flash) tier movie making
Why is this show so great, /co/? How is a show with such a silly premise this legitimately good in setting up characters and drama? How is none of the relationship stuff annoying or cringy? How does all of the drama and story flow so naturally? How does this show go from making you laugh to being on the edge of your seat in a heartbeat without for a moment feeling forced or jarring?
Is this the best comic book show on tv right now?
iZombie thread.
>>81548184
This charismatic motherfucker could be smothering children to death and I still wouldn't be able to find it in my heart to hate him.
>>81548230
I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda hoping Blaine gets redeemed in his current arc.
Rob Thomas is competent and can give both women and men agency.
Everyone in iZombie has their own plot going on at all times and they all try to figure out the ongoing mystery around them with the information they have on hand.
They seem much more realized.
