I went there, completely ready and willing to hate. I didn't hate it. It was actually pretty great quite a bit of the time. Sure, everyone knows how the big conflict ends already, and they didn't pretend it was going to be a surprise, but it was still reasonably satisfying to see. I've seen it too, and they didn't have those Vultures near the end of the animated version. The marching elephants were there, but they didn't spoke a single word.
