He has a pleasant demeanor. He put effort into growing close with Shinji.

Again, this isn't something that sets Qworu apart from the rest of the worus. Animeworu (from Draftworu) was extremely fucked up, more than Qworu. He had a death wish (and depression; cutting scares anyone?) that Qworu doesn't have, so in reality Qworu is less fucked up and less complex.

I disagree with this as well. There are several times when Qworu gives pause, without his serene expression -- it strikes me as a moment when he wants to say something but decides against it. Anime Kaworu, on the other hand, speaks much more easily, without hesitation. That's not a bad thing, it's just a difference.

I said from the start that I didn't hate him at all, and when I was talking about what I considered to be Qworu's good points, I wasn't actually pitting him against Anime Kaworu. I was just listing off what I like about him. That said, Anime Kaworu didn't really need to work that hard at all to get close to Shinji. Shinji was drooling at the sight of him the moment they met. I can't help but prefer Qworu's tender efforts at friendship. But that's just my opinion, and I'd appreciate if you didn't try to invalidate it by claiming I only like him because he's "shinier".

Anno can swear up and down Kaworu is timelooping and is the same exact character in every work, but unless he shows why Animeworu's motivations, attitude, and thought process has changed so much they are objectively two different characters to the core.

If it was all the same Kaworu, I guess one could argue that his personality has simply changed/evolved. The manga version of him does seem the least mature of the three, but somehow I find the anime version to be the most mature. There's a certain quality about the Rebuild Kaworu that makes me think he's growing weary of the repetition (perhaps his determined face at the end of 2.22?)

No, nothing has been outright confirmed. We just have Akira Ishida's words saying Kaworu has been through cycles in the past (which may or may not be connected to Animeverse).
My point still stands that they are different characters unless a direct link is made.
I also think the Kaworu of 1.0/2.0 and Q are radically different from each other, even others have theorized that they are different characters as well.

I think I kind of understand what they try to say.
I overall enjoyed the first Kaworu scenes in Q (Ishida’s interview makes you see how much detail they put into their meeting and relationship development) but the ending felt like prepared beforehand and just needed to lead everything into there, what made Kaworu seem (as well as some other characters) ooc-ish, thus ruined it for me. He just stayed there without moving for a while saying ‘Shinji, don’t do it’ one or two times. I don’t know how to explain it but it felt odd in contrast with his way to go in NGE and then his change of mind and final decision. Many of the main characters act different actually if you compare them to NGE. That’s why I can’t go with the ‘under some changes’ part. I feel like the scene would have gone differently if he were a 'developed' Animeworu. Plus the

Probably just a consequence of lazy animation. Smiling at Shinji in that scene makes much more sense that being that deadpan, and you can see the emotions he is feeling just with the eyes. I can understand it for NGE because they had no time, so we have really odd frames like the Rei looking down at Kaworu one. I remember someone commenting once they gave the chapter to TV Tokyo just half an hour before being aired (though I never saw a proper sauce, so take it with a grain of salt). But Rebuild was supposed to not have those issues... and yet, we receive a lot of quality.
Pic related is another scene I think looks worse in the animation.
There are some of them that looks similar to the final product, of course. But ouch, it hurts my eyes when I see how different there are some of the others.
