Post bicycle gays!
Thanks for a new thread, OP!
/r/ aoyagi or t2 in general? i haven't really been involved in the yowa fandom in ages but they've always had a soft spot in my heart.

So I finally finished the second season...and is it just me or was Hakogaku, as a team, way too awful to Manami? Sure, I get it that they are the champion team and all but it really came across as unnecessarily harsh.

I felt the same way. I feel like Arakita would have told Manami it was okay and that he tried his best because he's a good guy. Huge tsun, but he wouldn't treat Manami coldly like everyone else did. He wasn't there though, so all we get is this poor kid letting down everyone and getting no support.
Guess that's just meant to highlight how Sohoku is the ideal team. They care about each other's progress even if it doesn't result in a win. You know everybody would've given Manami a hug if he was on Sohoku.

I'm not having much luck finding this artist. Any help?
I want to see if they have done any cute Toudou pictures with just him in them. Lovely art style.

I agree, Arakita would probably have been supportive had he been around and I already expected Fukutomi to be stern but it was Toudou who really surprised me.
Toudou's reaction was insanely harsh. It's made worse by the fact that he is a climber like Manami and the one who told him to ride freely. Also rather unexpected since Toudou is a good guy and had sort of taken Manami under his wing.
I could understand if Toudou finished with one of his Toudou-smiles and reassured Manami after lecturing him but no, he was thoroughly mean.
Yeah, I think the idea was to show how great Shohoku was but it was a bit too much and felt very wrong.
