That's not seasoning, that's just filth. Just wash it and it will come off. Soap and water and a scrub brush. You see how the pan is black under all your filth? That black stuff is the seasoning, and you 5 of you working straight shifts wouldn't be able to brush it off with a soapy wet brush.
People who don't wash their cast iron are idiots, and should be ignored.
