I can't drink coffee anymore, what's an actually good alternative?
It doesn't seem to be the caffeine that's the problem, so i drink a bunch of tea now. But it's not as comfy somehow, every time i see coffee on /ck/ i pretty much get cravings.
dandelion root

Interesting. Seems to be sold under the guise of a detox brew, so i might be able to find some.

caffeine IS the problem.
Skim milk + aspartame tastes great
cocoa with coffee-mate and aspartame also taste great.

yeah you can buy it at natural health food type stores, you can also dig them up and roast it yourself
also chaga mushrooms but they're pretty rare

Try Puer tea if you miss coffee. It's extremely similar in my experience, and matches that bitterness you get from coffee in a lot of blends.

Cool, i'll get some the next time i'm in a tea shop.
Teas with milk are more comfy so if I were you, I'd try a variety of English teas. Assam, English breakfast blend, and Earl Grey are the most agreeable to go with milk, I think. You might like chai as well.
As for teas without milk, go for the thicker and richer teas. I agree with pu'er. Heavily oxidised oolongs might be good, as might genmaicha, hojicha, gyokuro, or matcha.

Nestle grain coffee simulacrum.
Roasted Zichory root with roasted grains. Has been around for more than 200 years. Started when Frederick the Great imposed heavy taxes on Coffee in Prussia.

I suppose it's silly that my go-to loose leaf teas are greens like sencha/kukicha/longjing. I'll try to get some richer ones, thanks for the recommendations.
Chai is OK. I've tried matcha once and it was just OK aswell, but OTOH i have some suspicions that the coffee house i was at had no idea what they were doing, so i'll have to get some myself.

Can't seem to find that particular one here, but i'll keep an eye open for other grain coffees.

Yeah, when i looked up dandelion roots people were saying that chicory could be used just the same. Again, i'll keep an eye open, i don't have anywhere to dig up enough to make my own.
BTW, thanks everybody, now i almost have too many ideas to pursue.
