I enjoyed this movie. Probably not that great if you're actually looking for life in a kitchen movies, but if you like foodporn and a lighthearted comedy I highly recommend Chef.
Plus, Robert Downey Jr was surprisingly funny in his 5 minute role.

outside of the mouse movie all these other movies are shit, no movie can capture the unyielding spirit and terrifying bantz of a real kitchen, how the fuck does bradly cooper shuck 1 million oysters without a rag, working every day of the year including christmas and ramadan, im supposed to believe this faggot cracked over 500 oysters every day for 5-6 years as his "penance"?

The movie starts off in a completely unrealistic scenario, and takes too much liberty with the faux majesty of being a working chef.

Movie shouldnt be called burnt it should be called niggerwork, because thats what cooking really is

A serial killer goes on a murder spree using Indian food.

I think it's pretty fun/funny, but it gets awful reviews for some reason.

The film? It's a Wonderful Afterlife.
Here's the opening scene:

Delicatessen

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101700/

From IMDB:

The story is centered on a microcosm of a post-apocalyptic society where food is so rare it's invaluable and is used as currency. The story centers on an apartment building with a delicatessen on the ground floor. The owner of the eatery also owns the apartment building and he is in need of a new maintenance man since the original "mysteriously" disappeared. A former clown applies for the job and the butcher's intent is to have him work for a little while and then serve him to quirky tenants who pay the butcher in, of course, grain. The clown and butcher's daughter fall in love and she tries to foil her father's plans by contacting the "troglodytes", a grain eating sub-group of society who live entirely underground. The "trogs" are possibly the most sensible of the lot, as they see food as food and not money.

A relatively boring Los Angeles couple discover a bizarre, if not murderous way to get funding for opening a restaurant.

Babette's Feast

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092603/

From IMDB:

In a remote 19th-century Danish village, two sisters lead a rigid life centered around their father, the local minister, and their church. Both had opportunities to leave the village: one could have married a young army officer and the other, a French opera singer. Their father objected in each case, and they spent their lives caring for him. Many years later - their father is now deceased - they take in French refugee, Babette Hersant, who agrees to work as their servant. After winning the lottery, Babette wants to repay the sisters for their kindness and offers to cook a French meal for them and their friends on the 100th anniversary of their father's birth. It proves to be an eye-opening experience for everyone.

Like any intelligent, forward thinking citizens of the 21st century, my wife and I are feminists. And like any feminists we were shocked and disgusted by this movie.

Both the main character (Jiro) AND the narrator are male! If alarms aren't going off in your head so far you're probably a bigot. Things became more and more repulsive as the movie played on. All of the supporting characters are male! And even worse, almost every single character in the movie is male!

I don't care if this is a documentary. My wife left the room in tears at the end of the first hour during a particularly sickening scene where Jiro serves a room full of customers. He says (not an exact quote) "I made the meals smaller for the women and larger for the men so that everyone would finish at the same time." Things like this would be expected in a film about Adolf Hitler or Winston Churchill (both disgusting sexist pigs)but in a movie about food it was just chilling. And that wasn't even the worst part! The women in the room appeared (probably special effects or movie magic of some type) TO APPROVE OF THIS. Can you believe that?

My wife won't talk about it and I'm not sure I could if I wanted to. I finished the movie with tears in my bloodshot eyes. I can't believe we've advanced so far as a society and women are still seen as being gutter scum.

Anyone forward thinking enough to simply be on the internet, to find this movie, to read this review, will be disgusted by the brutally sexist assault on your senses and common decency this movie has gotten away with.

>>
>>7866964
I make this the opposite way. I fry the bread, then put the fried sides on the inside, so my hands don't get super greasy.
>>
>>7867108

But then you'll be holding two slices of toast with melted cheese on the outside of each slice.
>>
>>7865090
SPANGLISH.
>>
>>7867182
What is the difference?
>>
>>7867221

In the one case you'll have a toasted sandwich with melted cheese on the inside. In the other case you'll have hot melted cheese with two slices of toast on the inside.

A buttered and fried sandwich might be greasy to pick up, but putting hot cheese on the outside seems like the worse alternative.
>>
>>7867034

you are trying to fry it.
>>
>>7867228
I fry the bread on one side, flip it, put on the cheese, put it together, and toast it.
>>
>>7867270

>and toast it

Like in a toaster?

If you have a way of making a grilled cheese without making it a little greasy to pick up, why didn't you just do that to begin with?
>>
>>7865196
This fucking movie was awful, literally all of the movie was just about a fucking loser chef having his son tweet about his food, and nice things randomly happening. I honestly feel that this was an arrogant Hollywood movie that was made for the big name cameos that appeared constantly, breaking the little immersion this movie managed to create.
