Back in my university days the local supermarket had a cooking sauce that was amazing.
But I can't find it anymore, it was an South East Asian Chilli and Coconut sauce (I think it was Indonesian or Malay) for curries. Does anyone have a clue what it could be, and what the authentic name is for it. It's been years and I can't find it.
Make it yourself.
>Coconut milk
>Red Chillis (or Sauce)
>Ginger
>Lime
>Brown sugar
Try Rendang or Laksa
both are really good and sound like what you're after
god bless malaysia those delicious dirty muzzie cunts
I had some sort of grape gelatin or something like that. Someone said something about Smuckers or Kroger or something like that. But I do not know??
What colour was it, what consistency, what sort of container did it come in. Some details, we're not clairvoyant.

I could but I get the sense I would make a generic chilli and coconut sauce that won't be the same.

I have tried both of those from jars before, wasn't the same.

Sorry. To answer your question;
It was a deep rich red and thick consistency like Indian curry sauce and it came in a long glass jar. I had a sweet coconut taste but also heat of chilli but it wasn't sharp or tangy, and was really good with beef. That's about all I can say
