Seems really functional although I'd rather keep the spices near the prep area as opposed to over the stove. Pasta maker is iffy. If you use it often then it's fine. If not, then it seems like it would be an obstacle when you're trying to get other things done.

Sadly there isn't anywhere to keep 'em closer to the prep table. That table sits in the middle of the kitchen. As for the pasta maker, it was out because it had been used that night, it usually sits on the bottom shelf of the table with all the other appliances. This is an older picture but it gives you an idea of the whole layout. Not really fancy but quite functional and able to accomodate four of my cooks and myself without getting overcrowded.

You could use a little mobile island for prep.
>>
>>7851911
The layout is truly awful. It's designed to be open plan, but I live in such a small apartment that it just sacrifices counter space. Prep is frustrating. My previous kitchen had an extra counter top and boy did it make a huge difference.
>>
>>7851914
You can get some pretty small mobile islands that are still very useful. Just get one that's small enough to not impede the fridge or oven doors but still large enough to prep on. They're also great for storing pots and pans.

that's a nice setup. couple questions tho. why a gas range with oven + a wall oven? do you really entertain that many people where you'd need something that big-ass 36" (40?) range wouldn't cover?

since there's a lot of cooking going on there, why get quartzite? i know it looks nice with the marble look and is a bit more durable, but it's still nowhere near as good as granite or quartz. why get something that will require constant upkeep in a heavy-use kitchen?

and why get such a modern countertop when your cabinetry is old-fashioned as fuck?

Wouldn't say it's normal or abnormal I guess? Lots have wood floors in the kitchens, but some carry them through and some don't.

A good reason to have carpet in the living space is directly beneath that is a bedroom, so wood floors above would be extra noisy.

>>7854372

Thanks! It was ultra-comfy in winter with a stew or roast chicken cooking, mulled wine, and snow outside. In summer it's less good as there is no real outside space, but it is a nice space. And the girls love it, not had a single one not go "wow!" when they climb the stairs in the middle of the room.

that fridge looks so tiny
>>
>>7854446

It's a full-size Smeg with a small freezer compartment. I rarely freeze anything (stock, fresh egg pasta, icecubes) and I live on my own so it's huge for my needs. Can easily fit 2-3 weeks worth of food.

But that's vinyl. Our UK friend has real wood that looks to be of high quality.
>>7854425
>Wouldn't say it's normal or abnormal I guess? Lots have wood floors in the kitchens, but some carry them through and some don't.
>A good reason to have carpet in the living space is directly beneath that is a bedroom, so wood floors above would be extra noisy.
Makes sense.

We have no IKEA in my country, sorry.
>>7854313
It's just some stickers to block out the view

This house is super cool. I love 2nd floor kitchens, and I love the rustic style combined with the white and wood.

Racism isn't why people don't like you, it's because you're an idiot and an asshole.

I've done a few dinners here, the atmosphere really helps. I'm planning on getting a small 2 person table for the kitchen on the left side of this shot, and a couple of bar stools for between the stairs and the worktop.

Neat. Have you thought about getting a few of those Philips Hue lights? They would go well with your Christmas lights and white walls.

Where in the UK are you anon if you don't mind sharing? Also are you renting or is the place yours?

oddly proportioned outdoor light fixtures screwed into random walls.

brick wall in interior space (probably faux brick)

storm windows

brand new cabinetry with wood facade.

It's like they give money to rich people so they can spend it wastefully and boost the economy.
So pretty much whatever random crap a real estate agent can throw in to increase perceived home value.
>>
>>7857965
Then stuff the kitchen with "luxury utilities" like an LCD and a second fridge for wine.
>>
>>7857965

This.

That kitchen looks like shit and will not age well.

>It's like they give money to rich people so they can spend it wastefully and boost the economy.
The joys of being upper middle class and single. Not enough money to blow it on pointless shit, but enough to have taste.

I'm living the dream... most of the time.
>>
>>7858304
But your dream will look dated in a few short years, making it a shitty investment in the value of your home.
>>
>>7858561
But I'm not the OP and my taste is more subtle and refined. I abhor ostentatious displays.

Maybe if you're a retard who keeps up with "fashion trends" like a fucking pleb
>>
>>7850312
I find it hilarious that no-one commented on the fact that you have this expensive kitchen that obviously doesn't see any use, and then suddenly:

Premade hamburger breads.
Seriously. If that's what you're "cooking" for yourself in your lonely home it obvious you've just built the kitchen as a try-hard show-piece because you think you'll be liked if you spend on a big kitchen. With outdoor lamps, because 'lol im so random XXDDDD'. Go to your garage and let the engine run.

There are several different companies that replace the front of new fridges and put on old looking designs. There are other ones that make there own mcm fridges. They usually cost over $3000 though.

I know, right? Why doesn't every restaurant kitchen have a bunch of empty space so everyone isn't always bumping into each other? It's not like it would cost anything extra.
