What's the general consensus on macaroni and cheese? I'm talking either stove top or baked macaroni. What's your favorite brands? How much have you eaten in one sitting?

It's good. Baked is usually too dry unless it's baked just to brown a breadcrumb topping. Make your own from scratch, it's pretty simple. Premade usually doesn't taste good, it's either low quality processed cheese or they don't use enough cheese like in frozen ones.
Its a lazy, easy food with little to no nutritional value at its base.
I dont know, Ive eaten a box in one sitting? Who is this thread made for? I dont really know anyone past he age of 20 that makes Mac and Cheese really anymore.
It's an amazingly efficient staple food. Dairy is a miracle of the universe, as are frozen peas.
If you buy boxed Mac and cheese I feel bad for you son
It's the easiest thing in the world to make from scratch.

I totally get convenience food but convenience pasta meals have me stumped. Pizza takes a long time to make and makes a lot of mess, when you consider rolling the dough, proofing it, making the sauce, baking etc. I make a lot of different pasta meals on the other hand and not many of them take a great deal more time than packet pasta. Mac and cheese in particular can be made with nothing more than one extra pot, in the time it takes the pasta to cook.

100% calcium, vitamin D and C. + your carbs and fat for a day, say it's pretty OK for someone that actually works out 5 or 6 days a week.
Off-brand boxed Mac and cheese is the best. It's not as good when you make it yourself. Something about that granulated cheese powder...
I love the BIG cheesy noodles

Kraft Deluxe and Velveeta Shells are both pretty good.
I only really eat it when I want a taste of nostalgia. My mommy makes pretty good proper casserole mac n cheese.
