It's a moist salt type salt, grayish in color due to high mineral concentrations. Next to pink salt it's the lowest of all salts in terms of sodium; half of what's in sea salt, which is great for those of us who require a low sodium diet. Sea salt is about 500mg of sodium per 1/4 tsp, pink and Celtic is around 250. If you really like to salt up your food either one would be much better for you.
