/ck/ I'm poor and feeling pretty tired all the time probably from malnourishment.

I have pots, pans and knives, a stove and an oven but no microwave, what are some essentials I should pick up when I go shopping tomorrow? I've got $100 between my roommate and I to spend on food.

The food you want to eat. You can look up how to cook pretty much anything you pick up, so may as well just try whatever is on sale that looks good.

What basic shit should you have around to cook with? An oil that has a high smoke point (canola, safflower, etc, something besides extra virgin olive oil), Salt, Pepper, some kind of stock or bouillon, milk, butter, flour, sugar... then maybe spices/sauces to match what kind of food you're making.

Prices vary drastically by store. Also google sale/discount day for your local grocery store. I save 25-75% just by buying meat on Tuesday or Wednesday at my local store because thats when they always mark down to move close to expiration meats and Wednesday has overlaps on weekly sales.
