Bored and sick so I'm going to dump some OC images of stuff I ate at restaurants in and around Oklahoma City
Feel free to post dishes from your hometown.
Starting with Pho Thai Nguyen

My usual order, BN7
I believe the proper name for this dish is Bun Thit. It's a bed of rice noodles with peanuts, herbs, scallions, shrimp, grilled pork, chinese ham, and spring roll and a bunch of other shit

Strawberry jam?
Why are you always so sick, dude?
I drink around half a handle of cheap vodka a day, need to take pills with my booze just to go out in public, and have never ended up in the hospital as of yet. What are you doing so wrong?
>>7788286

>So it has to do with being overweight? Or are thee other drugs involved?
I'm only 25 pounds overweight and the only street drug I ever use is weed like once a month. I don't even take the pain meds the doctors prescribe me. I came here to discuss food, not my fucking cancer.
My buddy's sandwich

>>7788378
>i came here to discuss food, not my fucking cancer
Everyone appreciates the OC, but you've kind of been blogging about your cancer for the past 6 months...
>>7788427
>get asked question about health
>decline to answer
>get pressed
>rudely decline to discuss it
BLOGGER
Eh, I like the OC. The Asian food looks surprisingly decent.

Sushi Neko
I don't remember what they called this thing but the pile of scallops on top was slamming
Whoremel had AIDS.

Wow, what a shit cook.
tortilla chips, salsa roja, "atomic" salsa, habanero salsa, queso dip, and flour tortillas made in-house
chicken and beef fajitas
>>7788501
I was also pretty unimpressed with the presentation but it tasted fantastic. The scallops were perfectly cooked and it's mad easy to over cook those little ones.

>my fucking cancer.
Really sorry to hear that, mate :(
Can we safely assume it's breast cancer?
I make no apologies for LOVING tex mex

>>7788511
A person who doesn't care about presentation probably also doesn't care about hygine. I wouldn't trust sushi from them.
>>7788766
I'm pretty sure it wasn't a problem of not caring. My guess is that the person who created the dish actually thought it looked good.
Regarding hygiene, the place has been there for 25 and has a flawless reputation. I'd be much more concerned eating about food poisoning at any fast food chain.
>>7788582
>smoking indoors
Fuck man brings me back
>>7788132
If you want Vietnamese sandwich, definitely check out the Lee sandwich place next to that Pho.
>>7788856
Lee's is pretty mid grade and definiely overpriced. I like the bahn mi from the deli counter inside the Super Cao Nguyen market.
The old bahn mi place in the milk bottle building was the shit. I miss it bad.
>>7788872
The theme of that restaurant is grilled cheese sandwiches. I think evrrything on the menu inculdes cheese and/or tomato soup
>>7788132
The Bomb Burrito from Karina's here in San Diego, Ca.
For the uninitiated, the bomb burrito is a california burrito (carne asada, french fries, guacamole, sour cream, and pico) with two rolled tacos in it. Only faggots eat it with beans and rice inside.
I've eaten six of these bad boys in my life, always in one sitting.
>>7788909
oh, and cheese. dont forget the fucking cheese.
>>7788881
Awful theme. But many of the other pics you're posting ITT look much better than so-called flyover cuisine I've had in Wisconsin, Ohio, Nebraska and Wast Virginia. So it doesn't seem like you're doing too bad in Oklahoma. Except for that grilled cheese place. That looks horrible.
>>7788909
>>7788909
Doesn't sound like something to be proud of. Kind of seems like a step down from a Rochester garbage plate.
>>7788955
i've converted people far more pretentious than you. Ask anyone who has ever had a california burrito; Each and every one of them will compare it to a bite of heaven.
If you've never had a decently made burrito, you couldn't possibly understand.
>>7788985
carne asada fries are so damned good as-is that I don't really see the point of rolling them up in a burrito with a bunch of other shit
but hey, I'm glad you like it
>>7788985
I lived in CA for six months. Never acquired the taste for fast food or the burritos there. Just seemed like people with nothing better to eat going apeshit over excessive food. Made me understand why so many people there are obsessed with eating healthy and/or vegetarian. The standards are pretty low, at least in SoCal. Things are a little better in the north.
>>7789016
If you live in Socal, you are going to the wrong places. If you live in Nocal, don't bother with the Mexican food you are too far north.
>>7788909
why does San Diego insist on putting fries into every Mexican food possible.
>>7788219
WHAT U LOOKIN AT WHITEBOI
Italian nachos at Sauced
Fried pasta chips, mozzarella, alfredo sauce, chicken, roma tomatoes, banana peppers, probably some other stuff that I can remember
It's one tasty abomination
white chocolate caramel cheesecake at Picasso
>>7789028
I went to the "right" places in SoCal for Mexican - the ones that worked really hard to turn Mexican food into something that more closely resembled a burger and fries. Fuck that. No point in eating Mexican in the north either, but all the other food was better (as in less like fast food).
My problem with the food in CA in general is that it tends toward fast food or health food without much of anything in between until you get to the really high end, where things are very uneven unless you're in wine country. And even then the standards aren't that high aside from the very best places. It's really a mostly fast food culture.
The tea selection at The Red Cup
>>7789060
fuck my cummy ass im cumming for this cheesecake in my own facehole
>>7788909
only faggots eat it with pico and gauc inside
>>7789062
i'm sorry, but please clarify what you mean when you say that you prefer mexican food that resembles burgers and fries. that seems counter-intuitive.
>>7789105
I don't prefer Mexican food that resembles burgers and fries, but that's most of what what you find in CA and TX. When I think of Mexican food I think of the food from Puebla/DF. I tend to shy away from the wheat, cheese and beef (and fries, for that matter). Not a huge fan of Norteño cuisine, and that's what that shit is.
I'm sad I know shit like carne asada fries exist. That is some pathetic shit.
>>7789164
>I'm sad I know shit like carne asada fries exist. That is some pathetic shit.
Your sadness is my happiness.
>>7789164
Chill out man. There are a endless varieties of food and we can't all enjoy the same things.
I don't eat as much "authentic" Mexican as I used to but I really dig tacos al pastor and tortas milanesas
Birria too
>>7789183
Fair enough. I don't want everything I eat turned into some variation of a burger and fries. If that's what you dig more power to you, you're very obviously not alone in that.
>>7789205
Oh, and elote en vaso
that shit is the bomb
No OC pics but my favorite place for legit mexican food in OKC is Carencia El Rodeo on SW 29th st. It's in a truly horrifying gangland neighborhood but if you show up early on a saturday morning and can fake enough Spanish to read the menu and order you'll get some KILLER chow for dirt cheap.
>>7789205
I don't give a shit about "authentic" shit, I just get exhausted with everything gravitating towards a cheeseburger. A good burger is amazing. But I really don't need everything tilting in that direction. Pizza? Tacos? Burritos? Subs? Breakfast sandwiches? Salads?! It's more than a bit much.
>>7789081
post story about catcalling women at red cup pls
>>7789324
>pack of mostly 50+ year old guys like to hang out on the patio all day long
>I'm way younger but chill with them because it's funny as fuck to hear the old man stories
>hard liquor is frequently and liberally added to coffee mugs
>some of these guys have incredibly bad manners
here's a few choice quotes:
"I learned how to drive on the crack of your mother's ass"
"I bet your asshole tastes like a cinnamon roll"
"you had better be glad you can outrun me"
"let me feel them titties just one time, I'll try not to shout"
>goes on for years
>sign goes up
You can still drink on the patio if you behave yourself and smoke weed in the alley. But you have to be quite and polite.
>>7789348
lol thank you man, I really appreciate it
>>7788219
I live in OKC and go to Beverly's all the time
>>7788132
i remember this thread from a month or two ago, why you posting it again?
>>7790676

pull over everyone
>>7790676
OP lives in hardcore flyover land where there's only half a dozen restaurants in town.
He's the same guy who made 100 "hipster coffee shop' threads, when he'd clearly never seen a hipster in his entire life.
>>7789028
Hey Sonoma county has some pretty bomb taquerias, don't order burritos up here though. Also the restaurants are more likely to have more traditional mexican plate dinners and such
>>7788313
Aww yiss, motherfucking Hideaway.
>>7790708
The city isn't even horribly flyover, it's just disgusting Dallas-tier urban sprawl. OP would find better shit if he went downtown instead fucking ghetto south OKC.
>>7789348
so, you got titties you're not sharing?
Cocktails at the HiLo Club
>>7791336
There are not many good restaurants in downtown proper Vast and Flint are the only ones that immediate come to mind. Midtown has Fassler Hall and Stella, I think both are fantastic but that's not really downtown.
Not one single place I posted was on the southside you fuckwit. You probably live in the burbs.
>>7788132
I wonder why they named it that. Thai Nguyen is known for tea not pho.
>>7791852
Probably because it's where the owners came from, just a guess
>>7789164
Are you into seafood? I thought Tacos Baja was pretty good. It's an inexpensive chain but it didn't feel like a "burger and fries" place. You can get ceviche there.
>>7791657

>>7788245
i've never not regretted getting a monte cristo. but the idea of a deep fried sandwich always sucks me in, and not many places have them so I usually forget how bad my last experience was before i get the next opportunity to have one
>>7795066
It's not the kind of thing that even a glutton suck as myself can tolerate very often but on the extremely rare occasions when I get one I always enjoy it, at least for a while.
Kinda like cocaine or fucking crazy chicks.
>>7788132
My nigga okc? Damn better hit up the Hilo for a happy meal and a holy diver and then trek straight over to NE23rd for some BoBos.
>>7789028
>too far North
I live in fucking Pennsylvania and there are hoards of Mexican restaurants here. I also dated a hot latina from El Paso/Juarez and when I took her to my favorite places, she loved them.
California has no redeeming qualities. Not even in the food. It's just a stupid pretense. You talk about flyover food, well that state is full of flyover people. Misguided morons who moved to California and stay just long enough to not look like a fucking idiot for falling for the meme because it's obviously trash.
