Alright coo/ck/s, I'm buying a knife set for my brother and his wife for their wedding. What's your guys' recommendation for a medium-duty set for everyday use?
>inb4 Google it
I just want to see some recommendations from strangers on the internet.
>he still uses overpriced, useless and clunk knife sets
>he doesn't just use a Yoshi Blade
I don't believe you.
Any set beyond three pieces is not worth it.
If you want to spend more money buy a honing rod and a beginner's sharpener.

Get one that's sharp enough to cut his wrists before she stabs him in the back.

Just buy one very good chef's knife.
Not gonna give out brand suggestions on /ck/, I still kinda want to live.

This.

My recommendation is that you don't buy a knife set, as they are all overpriced garbage.
Instead, get a Tojiro DP chef's knife and paring knife. Much better value.

>guard touching the board before the whole blade does
Absolutely disgusting.

How does something like that get approved?

Depends. I got a Henckels set very similar to OP's pic. It was the last one they had and the particular set I got was a discontinued item, so I got the full set for like 40.00.
I would say that was worth it.
