Why aren't you cooking with coconut oil.
>eat as much of it and nothing happens
>food taste the same
>cost just as much as regular canola oil
>much more healthier than olive and canola oils
>>
>>7719975
Coconut oil cost about a dollar extra but it's totally worth it for how much the jar has in it.
>>
>>7719975
thats a meme. its saturated fat. it was demonized in the 90's as worse than lard and now hipsters are gargling the cum taste out of their mouth with it.
>>
i rub it all over my body and eat a few blobs while doing it
>>
>>7719975

High in MCTs which are good for your brain.

Tastes like butter.

But something about it literally makes me gag.
>>
>>7719975

> Great lube for masturbating or titfucking
> Makes your hair silky smooth
> Unsuitable lube for condoms because oil
>>
>>7719975

Because I cook my food in butter or duck fat
>>
>>7720105
I fucked a former pornstar escort in A,sterdam once (well, 7 times) and she used coconut oil to give me a handjob, and also to lube up her asshole for a little toy play. To this day, that's what I associate coconut oil with.

Jamming a dildo into a pornstar's ass.
>>
>>7720194
in Amsterdam, porn stars whore themselves out to neckbeards
>>
>>7720397
In America, too. They cost a lot more than regular prostitutes, though, and have a prima donna attitude.
>>
I don't cook with it, but it's great lube for fucking my boyfriend. It doesn't play well with condoms though.

its the worst oil you can put in your body, 87% saturated fat.
lard for example is only 39% sat fat.
but I'll be glad that hipsters will die from heart attacks
>>
>>7720024
>muh authenticity
Try judging things on their own merit next time, kiddo.
>>
>>7719975
I do when it's for sale at costco, but that's just because it comes in a two pack and is pretty cheap. Though I don't use it for anything that would take a huge amount, deep frying still gets vegetable oil.
>>
>>7720512
>implying saturated fat is inherently bad for your health
>>
Incredibly saturated, actually very bad for you, it's not in a long chain of hydrocarbons like say butter, but it's just as saturated as afar as your body is concerned so per however amount it's just as bad
>>
>>7720530
I should correct myself, even though it's not in a long chain like butter, it's just as saturated, it's like a train carrying fat or a bunch of smaller trucks, either way you get the same amount, just smaller packages to the same total
>>
>>7720530
>>7720534
What the fuck are you talking about? You lost me with hydrocarbons but the search was called off on finding my rotting body when you went into logistic chains.

"I’d use coconut oil sparingly. Most of the research so far has consisted of short-term studies to examine its effect on cholesterol levels. We don’t really know how coconut oil affects heart disease. And I don’t think coconut oil is as healthful as vegetable oils like olive oil and soybean oil, which are mainly unsaturated fat and therefore both lower LDL and increase HDL. Coconut oil’s special HDL-boosting effect may make it “less bad” than the high saturated fat content would indicate, but it’s still probably not the best choice among the many available oils to reduce the risk of heart disease."

fuck off kike
there is literally nothing wrong with saturated fat

You're literally misinformed unless this is b8 or something.
>>
>>7720555
It is disputed. But when most global healthy organizations are recommending against it, it's probably better to just err on the side of caution and not stuff your face with coconut oil before we know for certain.
>>
>>7719975
>>
I do occasionally.

Who gives a fuck? I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian. Sometimes it's just perfect for temperature.

I exclusively use animal fats since that's what humans evolved to eat.

>LDL cholesterol is considered the “bad” cholesterol because it contributes to plaque, a thick, hard deposit that can clog arteries and make them less flexible. This condition is known as atherosclerosis. If a clot forms and blocks a narrowed artery, heart attack or stroke can result. Another condition called peripheral artery disease can develop when plaque buildup narrows an artery supplying blood to the legs.

wow, so healthy

You do know that coconut isn't at all healthy, right? It's a sham.

You should always try and limit your fat intake.
>>
>>7720105
Definitely going to back it as any variation of sex lube. Feels great, smells nice, and when you can taste it it's not bad at all.

not where I live for sure. It's not even available at supermarket.

My roommate deep fried with the ones from Costco.

He ended up burning everything and the pan was a black mess. He then complained how everything just tasted like coconut

u think rubbing oil on someone with acne is a good idea?
>>
>>7721539
Acne is oil-based so you need an oil-based solvent to absorb it.
>>
>meme oil

Also it's garbage for you as has been detailed earlier in this thread.
>>
>>7719975

The only really good thing about coconut oil is that's it's one of the relatively few non-hydrogenated, solid-at-room-temperature, saturated plant fats which is available at most grocery stores. And it doesn't fuck the environment as much as palm oil, which is the other major plant-based saturated fat.

>>7720546

Soybean oil has an almost 8:1 ratio of omega 6:3, it's AWFUL for you.
>>
>>7719975
It's solid at room temperature, and I don't like coconut. Also, it's got a very low smoke point.
>>
>>7721539
Coconut oil but possesses fatty acids that are antifungal, antiviral, and anti-bacterial for both inside and outside the body.

it has a bit of a taste though.I can taste it in my stir fries. I like it.

I use it for everything. even popcorn. been drinking the ray peat cool aid.

Why not duck fat?
>>
>>7722525
My thoughts exactly. I find it strange how most of human civilization since ancient times preferred to use animal based oils derived from animal fat most of the time yet everyone is only cooking with plant derived oils these days.

I only use it in making deodorant and not in cooking. I'm allergic to something in all brands of deodorant I've tried, even ones meant for those with allergies. I don't have a reaction to my homemade one. That's about the extent my hippy tendencies go: homemade "all natural" deodorant.

I use coconut cream to cook with, though. A lot. That's about 20% coconut oil.

Then why do Sri Lankans and S. Indians have such high rates of heart disease?

When it comes to oils, if it is solid at room temperature it isn't good for your heart.
>>

you fucking rub it on your stinky bits. also, it's a fantastic moisturizer. consuming as food? dunno about that. maybe in small amounts and if you want that coconut flavour.

Someone whose brand, reputation, and livelihood is predicated on a particular, specific, restrictive diet is not someone who can also be an unbiased source of information.

This is coming from a vegan, mind you.
>>
>>7719975
Well it's healthier than butter, is it not?

It has identical smoke point to butter, so it makes a pretty good sub in place of cooking.

How do you rinse out the excess oil?
>>
>>7727240
Simply epin, my man. Epin. In case you're unaware, that means both 'epic' and 'win.' If you were privy to the inner workings of this oh-so-exclusive website of ours, you'd have known that, but alas, not everyone can be as coolier-than-thou as I. </sarcasm>

>>7726255
Equal parts, by volume, of:
Bicarb/baking soda
Food starch of some kind
>I use cornstarch, but potato, arrowroot or tapioca should all work nicely, just be sure that it's 100% starch and not flour or starch/sugar mix
Coconut oil

On a warm day, whisk together bicarb and starch and set aside.
Add softened, near liquid coconut oil and stir to combine.
Store in a sealable container.
To use, rub a pea-sized bit of it into each pit. I also buy synthetic beaver arse IE "white" musk (synthetic musk) and dab that on, too. Natural musk literally smells like shit. And I mean 'literally' literally. Natural is great to mix with other fragrances, but on its own, smells of faeces. White musk just smells nice.

Anyway, the deodorant an be used immediately, but won't be quite so potent until it cures up. That can take days to weeks as it's entirely dependant on ambient temperature. As it warms, the parts of the coconut oil that haven't hydrated the bicarb and starch completely will separate out. You can pour this out into another container (do not pour down your drain as it will gunk up your pipes or contribute to the creation of fatbergs). I'm not sure if the separated oil is reusable for more deodorant. I'd assume so, but I've never done. I just sop up the excess in kitchen paper or loo roll and bin it.

Once cured, it'll have the exact same consistency as white, bar deodorants as are popular in the US. I've toyed with the idea of putting my homemade one into a push-up or twist-up container similar to mass-manufactured deodorants, but I'm fine with just scraping a bit out of the pot to use it.
