Why not partially cook the bacon separately, combine the two, then finish off in the oven? I've never cooked them before but that's how I might do it.

For one you can't sear the scallop, so you cant get a nice crust on it.

Also if you put a scallop in the oven for a minute its cooked, so even partially cooked bacon wont crisp up in time.

Now you can probably parcook the bacon and then deep fry the whole thing, that might work.
