But good German bratwurst and other sausage is seared either over a flame or on a skillet after you poach it in whatever. At least every time ibe eaten it the casing had a nice crisp to it.
I do it all the time. My grocery has local bratwurst and Polish sausage. I poach and then sear with almost browned butter. Delicious.
