pay attention to blind taste tests; it's the only thing that matters, especially with something as straightforward as vodka.
there are several world-class vodkas hiding in plain site in the same price bracket.
sobieski is probably the easiest to find (and the outright winner of several controlled, large-sample blind tests.)
so it's not that svedka is swill or anything, it's just utterly outclassed when near-as-makes-no-difference perfect vodka is $12.

Sobieski is almost definitively the best vodka for the dollar, Wyborowa is great too, but then maybe don't ask me, I drink Kamchatka and Mr Boston and whatever else they sell for 8 bucks to the handle in Indiana. I'll jumpnthe border, I don't care.
