No mate . . .these are nothing like our traditional dumplings (or dough boys as we used to call them) .
These are are a slavic thing, pastry a bit like ravioli but usually filled with potato/cheese and boiled. Sometimes they fry them afterwards.
I can remember a Polish guy, who I used to work with, years ago who raved about his mothers dumplings (a bit odd because a dumpling is a dumpling!) . . . .but they are not the same.
