Arby's has a 2 gyros for $6 promotion.

This is what their gyro looks like. Has anyone tried it? I feel gipped. The bread doesn't feel cooked like the gyro place down the road. I know I should've gone to the authentic one, but I just wanted to try Arby's.

Another angle. Just their typical sandwich meat. It's a filling meal, though, I have to say.

I got both the "beef" and the turkey option.

what were you expecting, really

Especially for 6 whole smackers, yeesh. At that size and quality it should at least get you three of em. Can't wait for reviewbrah to tear this one apart

Nothing great, but I still was surprised by how shit it was. I can't say it's justifiably shit either, but that's Arby's for you.

Beef on left. Turkey on right.

Here's a blogger's picture of the beef gyro.

These sandwiches are not gyros at all. This is a roast beef sandwich on a pita with gyros sauce and spices. It is just a roast beef sandwich.

I am saging the thread as I post these pictures so I don't needlessly bump it. I'm so sweet!

Cross-section don't look so bad.

Also their turkey was just awful.

I do have to reiterate that they were filling gyros. It's all that cheap sandwich meat crammed into my belly.

>The turkey gyros did not hold together as well. It refused to stay in a gyros shape.

I had this problem too. An authentic gyro keeps it's shape and is cooked. Arbys didn't seem to care a all. I bet if they put more effort in it, they could make something decent with these ingredients, but you have to remember what kind of people are cooking these things.

Authentic gyro for comparison

I would have got some curly fries with it, know what I'm saying?
Wouldn't matter if the gyro was good or not, those fries would have been the ticket to good taste and good times

No, I don't.

Yeah why would you buy a gyro expecting a gyro?

In my opinion saying this really justifies Arby's mediocrity instead of criticizes it. "I mean what do you expect?" kind of mentality never justified mediocre food to me.
>>
>>7620483

They use a cheap mayo with shitty spices for the sauce and they just pull the bread right out of the bag without toasting it.

I say just eat the meat and toss the rest out.

For what reason? Holy shit please choke on dicks forever.
>>

I'm actually using the original purpose of sage.
>>
is it good? I was literally about to buy this for lunch today
>>
>>7623858
Absolutely not. It's deli meat in gyro bread, and it's pretty much a typical Arby's sandwich. Nothing good can come from it. Find a drive-thru that sells gyros and you won't regret it.
>>
>>7620506
You are forgetting global rule #7 in your haste to talk shit about the sandwich
>>
>>7620502
that doesn`t even look like bread.
I fell for you us guys. All the chain fucking up what should be fresh stuff with their industry shit.
You miss out on some nice gyros and kebabs from from the immigrants restaurants we have here in middle europe.
>>
>>7620514
looks like an anal prolapse to me, not a gyro.
>>
>>7621699
no actual yoghurt sauce? That shit doesnt even try to be a gyro.
Also, gyro is always made with pork. I guess the greek want to show that their food is different from the turkish stuff, because they hate their neighbours. BUt that is simply a set rule.
>>
Real gyros are made with lamb.

Does Arby's serve lamb?

Better luck next time.

Nah, I don't think that's what he is saying. The problem is our chains taking great food from other cultures, marking up the value, and serving it in the worst possible manner. $6 for two deli sandwiches in gyro bread. No, not even good deli meat either. Boy, let me tell ya -- I was a deli guy. I've had the experience of trying all kinds of deli meats and cheeses to my heart's content! Also I've worked making subs. When you head to Arby's, you're going to a fast food restaurant to buy something that is on the same par as Oscar Meyer's deli meats.

That is why I don't understand why someone would buy any of their deli products. However, their classic roast beef sandwich is okay when it is on sale. But it's still nothing worth the money. Their fries are top notch, however, and so are their other items. It's a shame they don't make a product that truly pairs well with their delicious curly fries.

>>7620483
im trying really hard not to make a joke about you stealing those gyros but i wont

ive never ever eaten at arbys

is it worth trying at least once?
>>
>>7626992
>is it worth trying at least once?
Absolutely not. It's glorified cafeteria food. If Arby's your only option, you're not in this dimension. There's always something better somewhere else.
>>
>>7626992

If you feel the novelty, I advise getting, and only getting, the beef and cheddar, which on a good price is moderately edible/

Absolutely. While I despise Arby's, for novelty's sake it doesn't hurt to try their flagship product. But then never again after that, for you will realize that you could make that at home with simple household ingredients and that you should spend your money on something better if you're going out of your way to a drive-thru to begin with.

pic related. I'd om nom on one right about now.

that cheese makes me feel uncomfortable

its such a garish shade of yellow
>>
>>7627031
It tastes as yellow as it looks, too. You bite into it.. it's soft bread, goopy plain tasting yellow "cheese, and mushy flavorless roast beef. The sharp contrast you taste is the Arby's sauce you instinctively poured onto your burger to add taste.

The curly fries that you wish you had more of is the only thing that made that meal worth eating.

My every experience at Arby's. Do you want this?
>>
I think you got gipped by this arbys in particular, because I was surprised by the quality of the gyros at my arbys. Not like the best in the world, but left me feeling satisfied for sure. Definitely a decent gyro.

I always get the turkey though, never tried the beef.
>>
>>7620483
fuck. I know a place i can buy real gyros at that price, no deal required.
>>
The Chicken Slider is the best thing Arby's serves. I highly recommend it

>>
>>7628825
There's a place called Gyro Express that sells delicious gyros for about $8. There's varying qualities of gyros, but they're all delicious. Arby's is not worth the money.

I literally only go to arby's just to get their curly fries. Only thing serviceable but respectably so.
