Recently acquired a new smoker and am looking for a good sauce recipe, I will not sure what it's called but a bbq joint I have been to before has a very thin vinegar based sauce it has pepper flakes and maybe chili powder and some Worcestershire maybe....does anyone have a recipe for something like this. also it's mild In taste and is the consistency or water....thanks
look up some decent carolina based sauces made with vinegar. Mostly NC uses it. It's probably what you're looking for. Also southern Virginia uses it for whole pig pickins.

What exactly is confusing you? It's common to use an acidic component in conjunction with fatty meats like pork. Also, that amount of sauce will season a great deal of meat. Because it's thin and runny there's only a small amount of it present in each bite.
