Use basmati instead.
Any other advice is disgusting.

Rinse it in cold water first, make sure there is as little starch as possible

I assume he's referring to basmati, if not he's just a retard.

This senpai.
This changed my life.

that makes it more sticky.
Op if you want it less you have to pan fry it in oil before boiling.
alternatively you can wait for the rice to cool the fuck down to cold and break it appart like day old chinese take out rice and then fry it gently back to temp. this will also make the rice less sticky. theres no fast way though.

Use shitty low quality long grain rice

I actually do a combination of both of these.
First I rinse it several times.
Then I pan fry it before I add the water.
Also, in regards to water, most rice cooking instructions are way off. I've seen things like 3 cups water to 1 cup rice. Way too much water. Even 2 cups water to once cup rice is way too much, in my experience, and leaves you with mushy, sticky rice.
I think a better ratio is 1 1/2 to 1 1/4 cups of water to 1 cup rice.
Leave it alone while it cooks.

short grain is better

You can add a little bit of butter, or wait a day for it to cool.

It's also stickier.
A few drops of lemon in the water.

Does thus chnage the flavor of the rice?
