How do I make a great burger patty from ground beef?

you should never mix anything into the meat, only season the outside and only right before you're going to cook it
use fattier meats, 80/20 at least and try to work it as little as possible when forming patties

I usually do highest heat on the grill (after the grill gets HOT) for 90secs.
Just wanted to know if there was a better routine.

do this then put it in the oven on 300 degrees for five minutes

try adding some offal like chopped liver. just a touch though, you don't want to really taste it.
