Made a steak in a cast iron for the first time, how'd I do?
I think it's a bit too done for me, should cook it a bit less than 2min per side next time.
so, steak.
still good despite being a bit more done than I like.

if it's too done then cooking it less seems like a suitable course of action. don't cook it more because that will make it more done. cooking it the same amount will probably result in the same doneness that it's at now and you've already said that it's a bit too done for you. cooking it less sounds like it's probably the way to go.

Thanks fampai

You just blew my f*cking mind xD

looks good. Not so sure I'd put as many onions on as you did. Also, where are your sides? Throw some parsley or green herbs to make it look prettier, it'd honestly make it look a lot better imo

I wasnt that hungry.

Good idea, I still have another steak to work with for some other day.

if you want mid-rare, pull it when it temps rare and it'll finish while you rest it. just use the paperclip technique to temp it, doesn't have to be exact.

Well no fucking shit

Well how would you do it, smartass?
I think two minutes on each side on high heat is good vor a nice and tasty outside.
Consider buying a thicker slice of meat next time.

This is your problem OP. That cut looks way too thin for 2 minutes on high.

for a steak this thin the rotisserie method is best. flip every 15 to 20 secs to get a nice crust while preventing the inside from overcooking too quickly.

damn i want a kitchen like that

Slightly overcooked and covering it in onions is not necessary at all
Make mashed potatoes and eat the onions with that.
