I had never been here before but heard mixed reviews

The first thing I saw when I walked in was this, I took it as a good sign
>>

Flyover as fuck.
>>
>>7467620
looks like a shitty wannabe franchise, and being an okie myself and never having heard of it, it can't be very good bbq

You know why Texas doesn't fall into the gulf?

Because Oklahoma sucks.
>>
>>7467639
>rainbow bread/buns
instead of making their own they went with a buyout for bread, that's not a good sign
>>
>>7467642
I've been to Oklahoma, its literally a very boring and shitty version of Texas. It's similar to Texas in a lot of ways but has no soul or character.
>>
>>7467648
I live there and yep. about the only good thing to come out of oklahoma in recent times is turnpike troubadours
>>
>>7467644
Thick slices of pre sliced rainbow bread are traditional BBQ bread. It's usually only there to sip up leftover sauce and meat drippins and works better than good bread.
>>
>>7467652
sop not sip

>>7467652
that's a copout anon.
>>
>>7467649
It didn't seem like this awful place, just unremarkable. I'm sure there are much worse places to live.
>>
>>7467648
The only noteworthy thing Oklahoma is attached is the play Oklahoma!

And maybe the McVeigh bombings.
>>
>>7467669
yeah, it's not an awful place, just boring to live here, but at least violent crimes are pretty low here

>>
>>7467670

It's the most banal place on Earth, but the level of crazy that seethes underneath is impressive. Never go to a third location with an Oklahoman, you'll end up a sexual sacrifice or a cult member.

I'm partial to johnnies and earls, also rib crib is surprisingly good for a micro chain

I got curious enough to look up the stats on this because Oklahoma City has never seemed like a particularly low crime city to me. It turns out that in 2014 (the most recent stats I could find) our violent crime rate was worse than NYC, Boston, LA, Tampa, Dallas...

yuck

>>7467677
Is it mostly white still? Any really ghetto cities?

reall? I knew we had a meth lab problem but it always felt like violent crimes were a bit rare. it may be just that they're more reported because they're not taken as common fact of life

okc has a large black population but go to any smallish town and it's mostly white

OKC has a fucking shitload of Mexicans and a pretty huge Viet community

North Tulsa is a really fucked up black ghetto-

>TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police say out of numerous potential witnesses, only one person had any information to offer in a shooting overnight Sunday at the Chicken Hut restaurant, 1500 E. Apache.

>The shooting victim, 27-year-old Valentino Verner, later died of his wounds at a Tulsa hospital.

>Restaurant patrons even shoved past emergency workers, stepping over the victim to get their food.

The sausage was average, the pulled pork was delicious, the garlic cole slaw was perfect, the fried okra was ok

I tried some of my buddy's brisket and it was excellent

I took home a slice of their chocolate pie. It was great.

>>7467881
Tbh their prices were pretty much on par with most other bbq places, the quality was slightly above average

You know what Oklahoma is? it's Texas two hundred years ago.

You know what Texas is today? it's an amalgamation of illegal immigrants, California liberals who couldn't cut it in their home state, and stub dick urban cowboys who drive king ranch(®) edition ford trucks. Also H-town niggers.

Signed- a person who lives in neither place buts gonna stand up to another pseudo-badass texfuck when you mouth off to another part of our nation when you pretty boys can't even keep your bullshit to yourselves.

>>

Oklahoma has bought into the truck companies' whole "real men drive trucks!" bit hook, line, and sinker. 9/10 vehicles on the road are trucks, and they're almost always some variation of dual-tires, four-wheel drive, diesel, extended bed, extended cab, four-seaters. They're fucking massive as shit "work" trucks, used in the exact same manner that you would use a smart car - the occasional grocery run, then it's back to the trailer house! And of course this massive ego-boosting machine means they drive like fucking idiots. They can't wait to get into an accident. They actually talk about how "my truck could eat that Prius! I was hoping it would hit me!" Fuck yes I'm salty. I need a time-out.

This always gives me a good chuckle.

Nobody from California would ever dream of moving to Texas, but it's cute that you think so highly of yourselves.

I'm from the land of fly fishing, craft beer and elk, senpai. I think Oklahoma is a pretty shitty state but it's nothing compared to Texas.

Texas as a state is a swampy shithole in the east, arid shithole out west, has no mountains, no places worth living and almost no public land whatsoever.

Texniggers as """""people""""" are fat, egotistical mestizo (despite their desperate claims to the contrary) bible thumpers who contaminate better states in the summer like rats fleeing a sinking ship and insist that Texas is a western state despite the fact that it borders louisi-fucking-ana and who even when literally an ocean away from Texas seem incapable of not mentioning how much better Texas is then wherever they currently are.

Pic related, an average Texan after being told a knock-knock joke
>>
>>7467712
Can confirm, Rib Crib is pretty good.

Where I used to live in Bixby we had the Barbecue & Blues festival which was an entire weekend of every barbecue joint in a hundred miles filling up a local park. Pretty fun stuff.

Bullshit you have made california a shit hole then you escape that hellhole to texas. Then you mustard fucks vote in the same shit and polices that turned your last hellhole into a new one. then you move again it's a never ending liberal hell loop.

Tell that to all the dipshits from California currently flocking to Austin.
>>
>>7469896

>>7469911
>>7469918

So you basically just call anyone mildly liberal and perhaps mildly hipster a Californian?
>>
>>7469925
No, I call people from California Californians.

There's a ton of them around Austin. I know because I can see all the California license plates.
>>
>>7469925
I wasn't able to, sadly. That was in Jenks, right?
>>
>>7469918
I moved from San Antonio to Austin a year ago (native Texan though I've lived throughout the US, including CA in the past). You would be surprised how many people are from California living here and loving it. I know people who just moved, have been here for a few years, or spent a decade here. It's not uncommon.
>>
>>7469925
i take it you've never seen austin?
>>
>>7469935

he had a little chain going on, great ribs and brisket but when he passed his family ran every one of them into the ground, last i knew the jenks location was the last open but they were selling IIRC
