Why does Denny's smell like a wet dog?
>>
>>7467377
because they always hire the most disgusting looking managers. I went through 3 that were equally gross.
>>
>>7467278
Where does Denny's get the hair they put in the food?
>>
Why the fuck was the Heartland Scramble taken off the menu? Like for real, what the fuck?

If I walked in today and ordered a Heartland Scramble, would they make it for me?
>>
>>7467387
A fresh batch is made everyday. We strive for quality hair.

>>7467390
Depending on how good the waitress you get is, they can just put it in on the POS system manually. Dennys changes their menu 4 times a year. Usually for either promotional stuff like movies or to add new menu items. Heartland scramble probably got bumped off for whatever reason. Knowing them, it'll be brought back as a "nostalgia item" like Eggs in a Basket in a few years.
>>
Op, I cooked at Denny's for 5 years man! Overnight weekends as my favorite shift. I have moved on since but nothing makes you a quick, consistent cook like a diner, Denny's, breakfast counter gig.

Why did you do it? Why didn't u work a real job like being a hvac tech?
>>
>>7467427
Sup! I was almost always a hostess working that 11-3a overnight shift, but it was THE BEST. Thats when all the cool regulars and crazies would show up. The cooks I worked with were always chill as fuck.

>>7467443
I knew this would be brought up. I wish I got tips like that but the most I ever got was a few numbers. We did get plenty of fights and I even had an actual pimp (pimp cane, crocodile shoes, feather hat, etc) as a customer once. Ordered a Lumberjack slam, extra ham.

It ultimately depends on the location and just how ratchet things get.

>>7467446
I had just lost my car in a wreck and the medical bills made me drop out of vet school. I needed an easy as fuck job and already had tons of food service experience as a teen. I am happily working at a vet hospital now though so I'm better off now. But I'll never forget those days.
>>
How does Denny's make their scrambled eggs so fluffy? I want mine to come out like that
>>
>>7467464
they're probably powdered
>>
>>7467464
The eggs they use are always liquid eggs unless you specify you want shelled eggs.

Overnights at Dennu's was always fun and crazy. Me, the two servers, dishwasher and manager used to buy a 12 pavk of beer and then there was always weed too. When you are not busy with a check or a table you were out back drinking and smoking.

Our sstore had lots o fights too. I did a year and a half as casino security after I left Denny's.
>>
>>7467278
Have you, or one of your co-workers fuck with someone's food?

Has a famous person ever came to your location?
>>
>>7467478
Can you tell the difference between the two?
>>
>>7467278
Did you ever work late and encounter some kind of awkward situation with drunk people?
>>
did you work night shifts OP?

if so describe some of the bizarre people you've seen eating denny's at odd hours of the night
i once saw two mexicans walk in and casually order/eat a meal around 4am, even though one of them was clearly bleeding from the head and had blood spattered across his white t-shirt
>>
>>7467278
Where did you work?
>>
>>7467737
at denny's you dolt
>>
>>7467682
Never anyone famous. I lived in a tiny ass town then.

>>7467719
>>7467720
I almost always had overnight shifts. The worst was prom nights when we would get unruly teenagers dressed in what their parents 401k fund paid for and act stupid. Of course no one tipped.

It would only get crazy after 2am once the bar crowd got out. I saw girls that clearly weren't wearing underwear in their skimpy ass dresses. A pimp decked out in feather hat, cane, and crocodile shoes came in once and acted sweet on me. Fuck there was one time a dude and his escort came up to pay and he pulled out the most disgusting huge wad of $1 bills I had ever seen. I washed my hands eight times after he left.

There were a few fights. Only twice were the police ever called and they always got there 20 minutes after the group left.

I'll never forget this one regular. His name was Frank. Old white dude with more wrinkles and bumps than Larry King. He'd come in at 3am every night and drink a coffee. I heard he would sleep on a futon in his ex wife's house. Always kinda felt bad for him.

>>7467737
If you want a specific location, I'm in NC. But I won't go more than that.
>>
>>7467768
Frank seems like an alright guy

steal your managers phone so you can get a line to someone higher up and tell them australia`s "fast food, but with proper plates and table service" market is completely untapped, wouldja? If they brought it over as is, we will shit on it for a while for being "american" but slowly drag ourselves in
>>
>>7467906
I don't work here anymore but Dennys corporate is very social media savvy. Just ring them yourself.
>>
>>7467915
already know what they will say: "look what happened to krispy kreme", and then ignore the response "you mean, massively over-saturated the market in just a year and shooting yourself in the foot?"
>>
>>7467921
I'm going to move to Australia and start some fast food sit down chain myself. I'll name it leaping kangaroo or something so they don't know I'm American.

What was the most ordered menu item?
>>

Soda and coffee run neck and neck.
>>
>>7468488
Definitely had lots order Lumberjack or All American Slams.

T-bone Steak and Eggs was another favorite.

Everyone keeps thinking I'm still at this shitty as job when I have a real job now. I said it like twice. Lurk more.
>>
>>7468725
Fuck off Denny's fag you're not fooling anyone. Make sure you don't burn my bacon or I might have to get your manager. :)

Surely he wouldn't want to upset a fine customer like myself and he'll have to unfortunately let you go. :)

Fag, I already spit in your food.
>>
So I just decided to make a poorfag version of the grand slamwich. I read on their website that the bread is grilled with a maple spice spread. How is that spread made and how to you grill the bread? Is it before or after you assemble the sandwich?
>>
>>7468929
The Grand Slamwich became a menu item after I left so I can't help you there anon.
>>
>>7468951
Ah alright. I don't really eat out much so I've never even had a grand slamwich. Oh well. Time to wing it.
>>
>>7468929
Before you assemble the sandwich. Get your bread out. Pour a very small amount of maple syrup in a skillet, then put enough butter in there to coat both pieces of bread, and add in a little paprika and ginger maybe (just like a teaspoon nothing crazy). Melt that all down and mix, coat the bases of your bread with it and sear buns on the skillet to your liking.

I have no idea what that sandwich is or how they make it but I'm pretty sure this will accomplish the maple spice taste with common ingredients. After that put all your toppings on and see how it tastes. Adjust ingredients if it is not to your liking.
>>
>>7467932
'Roo on the barbe
>>
>>7468958
Oh OK. I'll try that out anon. Thanks.
>>
>>7468978
No problem, it should be pretty simple to get a good tasting maple bun.
>>
Is there anything I definitely shouldn't order?

What ingredients (brands) go in your chocolate Oreo milkshakes? Surprisingly, Denny's makes the best ones.
>>
>>7469392
Just ice cream and Oreos anon. It might be the blender that makes it taste better because it gets put on a specific setting.
