Has anybody ever made menudo before?
I've only ever seen it advertized at small tacorias and only on Sundays. It it as good at it sounds and looks?

Personally I don't care for menudo. The texture of the tripe doesn't agree with me. I've had excellent tripe in Vietnamese cuisine, but menudo is all gelatinous and blech.
If you don't like the idea of eating something with the mouthfeel of a blob of silicone, I'd give pozole a shot.

I really, really do not like the appearance of tripe.
There's something very unsettling about it.
Menudo is not tripe, it's the different stomach compartments of the cow. Along with this, there's hominy and a variety of spices. Some people put in beef bones for a richer flavor. Its customary to put in chopped up cilantro, onion, and jalapeno.
