its a brand and a name, and it is a fucking slim jim. if you want another name for it, it is a snack stick. it is a mass produced spicy stick of meat made in a giant factory, with ingredients that are designed to be as cheap and flavorful as possible. there isn't a "variety" of sausage it is. it was invented to make as big a profit as possible by being cheap to make and tasty to eat. there is no regard for the tradition of sausage making
