clausen is the best national brand

trader joes used to have these ones imported from germoney, but I haven't seen them in a long time
>>

I agree on clausen.
I also like batampe half-sours haven't tried their other offerings.

Worse pickled I've had was a garlic dill at Katz's deli, was inedible.

I think batampe isn't the best, kind of bland desu. I do enjoy a good half-sour, best pickle type. Local places are the best.
>>
>>7446744
Yeah there was a local sub place that good half-sours they made I think.
Whats your preferred half sour brand other than local places?

In Canada we have Moishe's. Full sour kosher pickle they make in this famous Montreal old world steakhouse by the same name, "Moishe's"

Lets brine in the pickle barrel of love together forever, Avatar!

Seriously though, are there actually people who enjoy sweet pickles? Vile fucking things
>>
>>7446889
I like sweet baby gherkins.
>>
>>7446916
I'm repulsed by the sweetness of them. I mean, I love stuff some people might consider disgusting, like dried squid, which is savory and sweet. But sweet pickles, they make me nauseous
>>
>>7446923
I've never seen large sweet pickles.
>>
>>7447180
I have! Slices, gherkins, whole ones. I just don't dig it. The only sweet pickles I dig are pickled onions.

This annoys me so much . . . .why can't Americans relate to anything unless it has a brand-name?

In Europe there are two main types of gherkins. In Eastern Europe, they tend to go for a salted fermented Gherkin, whilst in Germany and Britain, they are usually in vinegar with mustard seeds and shit. I am lucky enough to have easy access to both types, although, if the truth be known I prefer the version in Vinegar!
