I'm making chicken teriyaki but I don't have mirin. Should use sake or rice vinegar as a substitute? Help please /ck/

Yeah it's rice wine
I would use sake and a pinch of extra sugar

Use sake for now. It will turn out fine.
I never have mirin- I mostly use chinese cooking wine. It's MUCH cheaper, and it tastes pretty much the same.

Mirin is sweetened rice wine, so sake with a little sugar added to it is pretty much the same thing.
Most of the "teriyaki" comes from soy sauce, then you just need a sweetener (like honey).
You can add a small bit of vinegar too if you have some (either regular, cider, or rice.)
